For community health: Many activities in response to the National Social Insurance Month

Social insurance officers of Thach Thanh - Cam Thuy district and staff of the collection service team propagate social insurance and health insurance policies to people.

Since the beginning of May, the Thach Thanh - Cam Thuy Inter-District Social Insurance has coordinated with the District Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism Center to hang propaganda banners along the main streets of Phong Son town (Cam Thuy) and Kim Tan town (Thach Thanh). On the loudspeaker system of communes and towns of the two districts, propaganda on social insurance and health insurance policies has been broadcast. Relevant units have organized conferences to propagate new collection points for 208 employees of collection service organizations in the area (Cam Thuy District Post Office , Thach Thanh District Post Office, An Sinh Company Limited) and assigned the 2025 collection plan to each unit.

Together with the team of social insurance officers, we went to some families to promote voluntary social insurance and family health insurance policies. We had the opportunity to meet and learn about people's needs for social insurance and health insurance. When asked about the State's superior policies, many people knew about it.

Mr. Bui Van Hung, born in 1986, living in Trac village, Thanh Tho commune (Thach Thanh), recently quit his job at a company, currently a freelancer said: "At first, I planned to save my book to pay social insurance in one time, after being informed, I decided to participate in voluntary social insurance. After following the mass media about the new regulations of the Social Insurance Law 2024 which will take effect from July 1, the Law has added new regulations to increase benefits, increase attractiveness, encourage workers to reserve their payment time to receive pension instead of receiving social insurance in one time; the minimum social insurance payment time of 15 years will be entitled to pension... Social insurance participants like me are very excited about the attention of the Party and the State, creating conditions for freelance workers like us to have pension when we retire".

As an ethnic minority in a poor commune, living on the hillside, Ms. Bui Thi Phu (born in 1991 in Trac village, Thanh Tho commune, currently on dialysis, her husband is a construction worker, has 2 children in 8th and 2nd grade), chose the lowest payment level of 297,000 VND/month.

Ms. Phu shared: "Through propaganda, I learned that the 2024 Social Insurance Law stipulates expanding the subjects eligible to participate and fully enjoy social insurance regimes, so I try to arrange and calculate my income to participate at a level suitable to my family's economic conditions."

Ms. Cao Thanh Huong, Social Insurance of Thach Thanh - Cam Thuy district said: "Currently, Social Insurance of Thach Thanh - Cam Thuy district has 7,137 people participating in voluntary social insurance, of which 308 people have joined since the beginning of 2025. The unit strives to develop 2,925 new people to participate in voluntary social insurance from now until the end of 2025, contributing to realizing the goal of universal social insurance, with the motto "No one is left behind". The propaganda activities in May are practical activities, contributing to improving the effectiveness of implementing social insurance and health insurance policies, while clearly demonstrating the proactive and positive role of the Social Insurance agency in disseminating policies and laws to the grassroots, thereby spreading the spirit of responsibility and companionship for social security to each person.

In Thieu Hoa district, the Trieu Son - Thieu Hoa inter-district Social Insurance coordinated with the People's Committee of Thieu Hoa town to launch a campaign to propagate and mobilize people to participate in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance in May 2025 in the area. Immediately after the launch ceremony, social insurance officers and policy staff, and town organizations divided into small groups to go to markets and each household with people who have not participated in voluntary social insurance and health insurance to propagate. The People's Committee of Thieu Hoa town strives to continue to propagate and mobilize people to participate from May 10 to May 31, aiming to achieve and exceed the target of developing the number of people participating in voluntary social insurance and health insurance in the launch month.

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh, Deputy Director of the Trieu Son - Thieu Hoa Inter-District Social Insurance, said: "The propaganda campaign marked an important step forward in ensuring social security for local people. One of the strengths of this propaganda campaign is the focus on directly reaching people, especially farmers and workers. This is a group of people who often have difficulty accessing information and participating in insurance programs. Direct propaganda helps them better understand the rights and benefits of participating in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance, as well as the risks of not participating. After the first day of the campaign, there were 5 new participants in voluntary social insurance, 15 participants in voluntary social insurance renewal (Reinstatement - a term in insurance used to refer to the re-instatement of a previously terminated insurance contract), 10 participants in new health insurance, and 40 participants in health insurance renewal".

In recent times, the Social Insurance of Region VI and the Provincial Post Office have coordinated to organize many active activities in propaganda and mobilization of people and workers to participate in social insurance and health insurance. Thereby, the number of people participating in social insurance and health insurance in the province has always increased, each year higher than the previous year. Up to now, in the whole province, there are 543,835 people participating in social insurance (of which 94,218 people participate in voluntary social insurance); 3,255,733 people participate in health insurance (of which 509,327 people participate in household health insurance); the health insurance coverage rate in the whole province is 86.68% (excluding people participating from other provinces).

Responding to the Month of mobilizing and implementing universal social insurance in 2025 with the theme "Social insurance - Peace of mind for every family", Social Insurance Region VI has deployed extensive communication activities to raise people's awareness of the rights, responsibilities, and long-term benefits of participating in social insurance, especially for freelance workers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda and Support for Social Insurance Participants in Region VI, said: "Propaganda work is always one of the key tasks. We continue to innovate communication forms, closely coordinate with authorities at all levels and mass organizations to bring social insurance and health insurance policies to everyone. From there, spread the humanity and sustainability of social security policies to each citizen, helping them better understand the long-term benefits and proactively participate in social security policies of the Party and State".
