This was affirmed by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang on November 25 at the Congress to establish the Vietnam Classical Music Association for the first term (2025 - 2030). According to Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang, the establishment of the Vietnam Classical Music Association is an objective and necessary requirement at the present time, in line with the policy of socialization in the field of culture and arts, with the development of cultural industry and international integration.
The Association will be an important channel in promoting culture in general, classical music in particular, aiming to gather forces in the field of classical music nationwide, build and develop the Vietnamese academic arts ecosystem, promote international cooperation, bring Vietnamese artists and Vietnamese culture to the world, absorb the quintessence of human culture selectively and sustainably; create conditions for Vietnamese organizations and citizens in the field of classical music to operate more effectively, contribute more positively to the development of classical music in Vietnam in particular, and Vietnamese culture in general.

At the congress, delegates unanimously elected Dr. Nguyen Van Than, National Assembly Delegate of the XIV and XV terms, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, as Chairman of the Vietnam Classical Music Association for the 2025-2030 term. People's Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi held the position of Permanent Vice Chairman and musician, music critic and theorist Tran Le Chien as Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Classical Music Association.
The Vietnam Classical Music Association was officially established on October 22, 2025, under Decision No. 1217/QD-BNV of the Minister of Home Affairs. The Association has three main missions: Building a modern and sustainable Vietnamese classical music ecosystem; raising the status of Vietnamese artists in the international arena; contributing to the development of Vietnam's culture and arts industry and contributing to the country's socio-economic development.

In the period 2025-2030, the Association will establish a Vietnam Music Talent Fund; build a network of international artists to teach in Vietnam; organize Masterclasses with scholarship programs at home and abroad, and strengthen extensive international cooperation with conservatories, academies and training facilities to increase learning and training opportunities for young talents.
The Association also aims to build an annual National Concert Series; organize the Vietnam Classical Music Festival; support youth and semi-professional orchestras to connect with regional orchestras; and bring classical music to schools, hospitals and communities. In addition, the Association will promote digitalization in its activities, promote livestreams, podcasts and music education platforms; build online programs specifically for children and adolescents and create music products that can be widely distributed.
Notably, the Vietnam Classical Music Association will organize a special concert on the evening of November 28 in Hanoi to raise funds to support people in the Central region who suffered heavy losses due to floods.
