General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the visit of the Cuban leader is of special significance, coming at a time when the two countries are celebrating the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The visit creates a milestone and strong momentum to consolidate, expand, elevate and deepen the relationship between the two countries.

The two leaders were moved to share about the solidarity and closeness between the two nations that has been nurtured, preserved and continued to develop by President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro, along with generations of leaders and people of the two countries. Cuban leaders believe that Vietnam will soon enter a new era of development, successfully achieving its goals by 2030 and 2045.

First Secretary and President Miguel Díaz-Canel was delighted and moved to return to visit Vietnam after 7 years, admiring the heroic history of the Vietnamese people and especially congratulating the great achievements.

The two leaders agreed to continue to consolidate and further enhance political trust and strategic coordination; maintain the exchange of high-level visits, contacts and dialogues, through all channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, localities, organizations and people.

Vietnam and Cuba will strengthen theoretical exchanges on the path to socialism, share experiences in leading socio-economic development and Party building, and prepare for the organization of the National Party Congress in each country in 2026.

The two sides agreed to promote and deepen economic-trade and investment cooperation, especially in strategic cooperation areas including agriculture, solar energy and biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Cuba will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to do business and invest, especially in rice production and agricultural development according to a new model to support Cuba in increasing local food production, contributing to ensuring food security, a key factor to ensure Cuba's sustainable development in the current context.

General Secretary To Lam and First Secretary and President of Cuba witnessed the first presentation of a gift worth 385 billion VND from the Party, State and people of Vietnam to the people of Cuba.

The two leaders agreed to encourage and facilitate businesses of the two countries to establish joint ventures to produce pharmaceuticals, transfer biological and pharmaceutical technology from Cuba, and promote research and development activities on biological and high-tech pharmaceuticals in Vietnam.

Regarding potential and space, the two sides agreed to promote cooperation in areas of strength and mutual interest: defense, security, justice, science and technology, construction, culture, sports and people-to-people exchange...

The two sides affirmed to continue to strengthen coordination, cooperation and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums. Vietnam called for the lifting of unilateral blockade and embargo measures against Cuba.

General Secretary To Lam announced the initial results of the 65-day nationwide support program with the theme “65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship” to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In a very short time, nearly 2 million participants were mobilized with a value of nearly 400 billion VND, a vivid manifestation of the tradition of solidarity and brotherly cooperation between the Party, State and people of the two countries.
