Vietnam returns to the rankings as a favorite winter destination for Russians

According to Russian newspaper RIA Novosti, Vietnam is gradually returning to the rankings of favorite winter destinations for Russians. This November and the New Year holidays in 2024, although there are still no direct flights between Vietnam and Russia, the revenue of Russian travel companies is increasing sharply.

Most Russian tourists like to come to Vietnam this winter because of the 45-day visa exemption mechanism and the ability to withdraw money from Russian cards at ATMs of the Vietnam-Russia bank VRB.

From November 15, Russian travel agency Fun&Sun has launched a flight program to Cam Ranh - Khanh Hoa on flights of Kazakhstan Scat Airlines landing in Almaty. Since there are currently no direct flights from Moscow, this form of tourism is being chosen by many tourists from Russia and many countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

According to Olga Ivanova, Communications Director of this tour operator, the first flights were almost 80% filled, the demand is approximately the same as in 2022 and evenly distributed throughout the winter. In particular, the demand for the New Year 2024 is higher.

Most tourists book tours from 9 to 16 nights and choose Vietnam's top resort destinations such as Nha Trang and Phan Thiet. Ms. Olga also said that last winter, Fun&Sun travel agency brought about 3,000 tourists to Vietnam.
