Feeling clearly the dynamism and opportunities the city brings to today's young generation, Nguyen Ha My (23 years old), Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City Central Pedagogical College, is more aware of the sacrifices of her ancestors and is clearly aware of the responsibility to continue that tradition.

“As a Youth Union official, I am more aware of the value of peace and the contributions of previous generations, who laid a solid foundation for us to continue building the country. I am also clearly aware that the responsibility of the younger generation is not only to remember history, but also to live, act and contribute in a way that is worthy of those noble values,” Ha My shared.

As Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union, My always cherishes the desire to build a dynamic, humane and inspiring learning and living environment, where every young person has the opportunity to develop their abilities, affirm their self-worth and spread good things to society.

“Live with goals, dare to dream, always be responsible and turn towards the community” are the things Ha My always reminds herself and wants to convey to young people.

Sharing the same thought, Nguyen Dinh Vu Hoang (19 years old), a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, affirmed that today's young generation must be the ones to keep the flame of faith, continuing the path of their ancestors for independence, freedom and for a strong and everlasting Vietnam.

"Our fathers and grandfathers were willing to sacrifice to gain independence for the country, so today we are willing to use our youth to build and protect our homeland and Fatherland," Hoang emphasized.

As an active member of the Youth Union - Student Association of the school, Vu Hoang has participated in organizing volunteer activities, movement events and student exchange programs. Most recently, he won the Special Prize in the contest on the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security tradition day and the 20th anniversary of the National Defense Day.

“Today’s young generation, if they want to contribute to the overall development of the city and the country, must first of all have solid knowledge and a spirit of constant creativity. But knowledge alone is not enough, we must also nurture ideals, aspiration to contribute and the courage to think and act. Young people must live responsibly towards the community, from the smallest things to big actions, while also equipping themselves with the spirit of integration and mastery of technology,” Hoang expressed.

Vu Hoang is also extremely proud to be a son of the city named after Uncle Ho. For Hoang, Ho Chi Minh City is a dynamic, creative and aspiring learning and working environment.

“Although I was not born and raised in this city, this place gave me the opportunity to learn, practice and mature,” Hoang said.

Like Hoang, Nguyen Duyen Loan Phung (20 years old), a student at the University of Social Work - Campus 2, considers the city her second home. “The city not only provides a dynamic environment but also opens up many opportunities to experience and learn in many different fields, helping each young person maximize their potential,” Phung shared.

"The land we sit on today to study is the blood and bones of our ancestors that we shed. The sky we see white doves flying in today is the exchange for the enemy planes that were shot down." Understanding that, Phung always tries to study and practice to contribute to the development of the country.

“I think that protecting and building the country today is not only about protecting the border, but also about working hard, living responsibly, and making practical contributions to the community and society,” Phung confided.

Sharing her aspirations, Phung said: “I want to become a dedicated and visionary human resources worker, with enough capacity and professional courage to build a healthy, humane and socially responsible organizational environment. Protect the legitimate rights of employees as well as the interests of businesses and organizations.”

With patriotism, creativity and aspiration to rise up, the young generation of the city named after Uncle Ho today is continuing the tradition of their fathers and brothers, contributing to writing new pages of history, together building and protecting the increasingly rich and strong socialist Vietnam Fatherland, firmly stepping into the future.
