Within the framework of the annual conference on international payments (Sibos) held in Beijing (China) with the participation of representatives of major banks and financial institutions in the region and the world , The Asian Banker (TAB) magazine recently held a ceremony to honor the 1,000 strongest banks in the world. Vietnam has 21 commercial banks voted in the list of 1,000 strongest banks in the world in 2024 by TAB. Vietcombank excellently led Vietnamese banks, was the only representative of Vietnam invited by TAB to attend the award ceremony and was honored to receive the award "Strongest Bank in Vietnam" in 2024. This is the 7th time Vietcombank has received this award. With a strength index of 5.8/10, Vietcombank is the bank with the strongest balance sheet in Vietnam, ranked 466th in the list of 1,000 banks with the strongest balance sheets in the world. According to TAB, Vietcombank's impressive business results are demonstrated through growth in profits, return on assets, asset quality and capital mobilization.

The "Bank with the Strongest Balance Sheet" award has been implemented by TAB since 2007. This year, the voting was conducted through evaluating the achievements of the 2023 fiscal year of 1,000 commercial banks from 99 countries and territories around the world, based on the criteria: development scale, balance sheet growth, risk, profit, quality of operations, liquidity... The ranking evaluated 440 banks in the Asia- Pacific region, 217 European banks, 179 North American banks, 12 Central American banks, 46 South American banks, 70 Middle Eastern banks, 27 African banks and 7 Caribbean banks. TAB is one of Asia's leading magazines in the financial sector with a large readership in the region and around the world. The results of the TAB's 1,000 strongest banks in the world poll are a useful source of information for investors, financial experts and the media to use when referring to the financial strength of banks. Through this poll, Vietcombank continues to affirm its position as the leading bank in the system in terms of quality and operational efficiency. Vietcombank is also honored to be voted by prestigious domestic organizations as "Most prestigious bank", "Leading strong brand"; honored by international organizations as "Best bank in Vietnam" for many consecutive years; ranked highest among commercial banks in Vietnam by the three most prestigious international credit rating organizations in the world (S&P, Fitch Ratings, Moody's).
