On July 19, Vingroup Corporation (stock code VIC) announced its Consolidated Financial Report for the second quarter of 2024 and the first 6 months of the year.
The report shows that Vingroup's total consolidated net revenue in the first half of the year reached VND65,043 billion, thanks to positive developments in the fields of residential real estate, industry, tourism - resort and entertainment. Consolidated profit after tax reached VND2,019 billion.
With the technology-industry pillar, VinFast delivered 21,747 electric cars in the first half of this year, marking an impressive growth of 92% compared to the same period in 2023.
Also in the first half of the year, VinFast began accepting deposits for the mini-SUV VF 3 in the Vietnamese market and recorded a record number of deposits with 27,649 non-refundable orders after 66 hours of opening for sale.
Other markets such as Indonesia and the Philippines have had positive results.
Vingroup reported a profit of over 2,000 billion VND
The highlight of Vingroup's business results is the commercial services sector. In the first half of 2024, Vinhomes continued the upturn in the real estate market with sales of VND 51,500 billion and unrecorded sales of VND 118,700 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2024.
The company's consolidated profit after tax reached VND 11,513 billion, with the main contribution coming from recording large lot sales transactions at Vinhomes Royal Island project and continued handover at existing projects.
The company aims to complete its business target in 2024 when key projects such as Vinhomes Ocean Park 3 and Vinhomes Royal Island ensure both sales speed and handover progress.
In the resort tourism sector, in parallel with the recovery of the tourism industry, Vinpearl's business activities also continued to make their mark with many improvements with the total number of room nights sold in the second quarter of 2024 reaching nearly 452,000 rooms, an increase of 25% over the same period last year. Revenue of VinWonders and Vinpearl Golf in the second quarter of 2024 also grew by 52% and 17% respectively over the same period last year.
Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's group said that looking forward to the last 6 months of 2024, with macroeconomic indicators continuing to recover under the Government's drastic management as well as the world economy starting to show positive signs, Vingroup expects business results to develop positively in all key business areas.
