Opening ceremony of the 2025 National Classical and Freestyle Wrestling Youth Championship.
The tournament attracted more than 500 athletes from sports delegations from 24 provinces, cities and sectors across the country, divided into 2 age groups (14-15 and 16-17) competing in 42 weight categories.
According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 National Classical and Freestyle Wrestling Youth Championship is an important sports activity within the system of competitions organized annually by the Department of Physical Education and Sports to evaluate the quality of training and coaching of athletes in provinces, cities, and sectors and is an opportunity for young athletes to compete, exchange, learn, accumulate experience, and improve their performance. This is also an opportunity to review the force to select outstanding athletes for the national team and youth team.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province, requested the athletes to compete actively, dedicating to the audience good and attractive matches with the sportsmanship spirit: Solidarity, honesty, nobility; the referees officiated the matches seriously, impartially, in accordance with the Law, Charter and regulations of the Organizing Committee, creating a healthy competitive atmosphere so that the athletes have a good impression of the tournament and of their homeland Tuyen Quang.

For Tuyen Quang province, over the years, wrestling has always been chosen by the province as one of the five key sports for investment and development. Thereby, many Tuyen Quang wrestlers participating in national and international competitions have won medals and been awarded the rank of master, level I of Vietnam and the world . In particular, the province is also the honored locality for many consecutive years chosen by the Department of Physical Education and Sports as the locality to host national wrestling competitions. Thanks to that, it has created conditions and opportunities for Tuyen Quang athletes to exchange, learn experiences and gradually improve the quality of training, coaching, and competition achievements, contributing significantly to promoting the province's sports career in general and wrestling in particular to develop more and more.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, athletes competed in many events, bringing the audience fierce, thrilling and attractive matches.
The 2025 National Classical and Freestyle Wrestling Youth Championship will end on June 8.
