"Lifelong learning" - a practical training model that helps service industry students improve their professional skills
Contribute to building quality human resources for Vietnam's tourism industry
The Lifelong Learning Project is part of Diageo’s global strategy towards 2030, which aims to support vocational skills for 200,000 people worldwide. To date, the program has reached more than 98,000 people in 36 countries and territories.
In Vietnam alone, the project is helping to solve the problem of human resource shortage in the tourism and hospitality industry. According to statistics, each year this industry needs to add more than 40,000 workers, while the current supply capacity is only from 15,000 to 20,000 people. Of these, only 43% of the workers have received formal training and less than 10% have a university degree or higher.
With an approach that connects schools - businesses - social organizations, the "Lifelong Learning" program not only provides practical skills but also inspires students to learn and develop themselves. Diageo Vietnam affirms that it will continue to accompany educational institutions and the community in a long-term strategy to expand this training model, contributing to building high-quality human resources to meet the integration requirements of the Vietnamese tourism - service industry.
