Under the leadership of the Party, the press has overcome countless difficulties, hardships, and challenges, fostered confidence, fanned the flames of revolutionary enthusiasm in each generation of Vietnamese people, and created the strength of great national unity.
Many journalists have overcome the harshness, the rain of bombs and bullets of war; holding both pens and guns to report and fight. Hundreds of journalists have sacrificed, thousands have been injured, but the flow of information has never stopped.
"Our Party, State and people will forever remember the contributions of martyr journalists who have contributed to beautifying the glorious history of the Vietnamese revolutionary press and the heroic Vietnamese nation," emphasized the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, after nearly 40 years of renovation, the role of the press has become increasingly clear in propagating and encouraging all our people and army to successfully implement the renovation policy initiated and led by the Party.
The press participates in monitoring, criticizing, and contributing opinions to the development of the Party's policies and the State's laws, promoting the people's right to mastery. The press makes an important contribution to the task of building a clean and strong Party and State; and consolidating the people's trust.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission emphasized that the foundation and prestige of Vietnam today is partly due to the contribution of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. Every journalist today needs to be proud of the 100-year tradition of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.
At the same time, it is necessary to clearly recognize the profound instructions of General Secretary To Lam as a new era that sets new and higher requirements and tasks for the Vietnamese revolutionary press. It requires the press to develop accordingly, grow together with the nation, and be worthy of a professional, humane, and modern press.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia also noted that the press still has many limitations that need to be overcome. These include information deviation in a few press agencies, commercialization trends, violations of press ethics, and the ability to manage newsrooms in the digital environment that has not kept up with practical requirements...

According to the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, first of all, it is necessary to continue to affirm that the press is a sharp ideological and cultural tool of the Party. Therefore, maintaining the Party's leadership is an immutable principle; it is also a fundamental guarantee for the Party, for the Party's character, the orientation, the revolutionary and humane nature of the country's press.
Leadership and direction of the press must be strategic guidance, inspiration, and create conditions for the press to develop professionally, modernly, and humanely, truly be a bridge between the Party, the State, and the people, and a trusted forum for all social classes.
Continuing the tradition of revolutionary journalism over the past 100 years, we need to continue to build, consolidate, and elevate a generation of future journalists with sharp pens, pure hearts, bright minds, imbued with the spirit of serving the country and the people.
Contribute to training journalists to be good at journalism, profound in political theory, knowledgeable about social life and proficient in technology application.
Build institutions and policies with orientation and create an environment for the healthy development of the press; urgently complete the legal corridor, focusing on amending and supplementing the 2016 Press Law and documents guiding its implementation.
The revision process needs to thoroughly grasp the spirit of not banning but creating for the development of the press. At the same time, it is necessary to update and institutionalize the Party's new viewpoints and policies, especially the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation./.
