Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Le Thi Thu Hang, expressed sincere gratitude to Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Do Van Chien, and the leaders of the Fatherland Front for taking the time to receive the delegation and for their continued attention to the work concerning overseas Vietnamese. The Fatherland Front regularly encourages and commends individuals and groups of overseas Vietnamese. This is a great source of encouragement, creating motivation for overseas Vietnamese to continue contributing to the community and the country. Today, the nomination of 8 groups and 18 individuals for honor for their practical contributions to building, gathering, and uniting the community speaks volumes about this.

The Deputy Minister reported to the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the situation of the Vietnamese community abroad and the 2025 Homeland Spring program, which included many meaningful activities by the delegation of exemplary overseas Vietnamese, such as visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, laying flowers at the memorial to heroic martyrs, offering incense at the Kinh Thien Palace, attending the carp release ceremony with the President and his wife, and the ceremony to present the decision recognizing national treasures. Yesterday, January 18th, the delegation visited and connected with Hung Yen province. During the program, the delegation also paid a courtesy call on General Secretary To Lam, Chairman of the National Assembly, worked with the leaders of Hanoi City, and attended the President's New Year greetings to overseas Vietnamese and an art exchange program.

At the meeting, several overseas Vietnamese shared their thoughts and aspirations, and offered opinions on promoting national unity.

Venerable Thich Duc Tuan (a Vietnamese expatriate in the US) proposed establishing an official Voice of Vietnam radio station in the US to ensure a unified voice free from distortion; and building a Vietnamese temple in the US to promote Vietnamese culture and language.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien (a Vietnamese expatriate in Malaysia), the Vietnamese language ambassador for 2023, expressed her wish that the trainees who attended the Vietnamese language teaching training course would continue to use Vietnamese and connect with experts.

Mr. Jean Pierre Dinh, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in New Caledonia, stated that the Vietnamese language is a legacy inherited from his parents and that he wishes to pass it on to his children and grandchildren.

Speaking to congratulate the delegation of exemplary overseas Vietnamese attending the Spring Homeland program and visiting the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien informed them about important events of the country in 2024, especially achievements in socio-economic development, national security and defense, and foreign affairs. The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front stated the determination of the Party and State to usher Vietnam into a new era, an era of national progress. Among these, four key projects have been unanimously approved by the Politburo: the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City high-speed railway project; the early completion of Long Thanh International Airport; the restart of the nuclear power plant construction project; and the investment in the construction of two financial centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam has also upgraded its relations with five members of the United Nations Security Council.

The guiding principle of the Party and State leadership is for Vietnam to participate more deeply in the global economy. Entering a new era of national development is based on President Ho Chi Minh's testament, which places businesses and the people at the center of all policies.

Regarding front-line work, over the past year, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front successfully organized its 10th Congress, in which the number of overseas Vietnamese members increased to 18 delegates. The Committee also submitted a proposal, which was approved by the Secretariat, to pilot the first Overseas Vietnamese Solidarity Day in 2025 in the Czech Republic.

The Committee has also actively participated in honoring those who have made contributions to the nation and building charitable houses for ethnic minorities. The Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee are also working together to build houses and eliminate dilapidated housing for those in need.

Regarding the suggestions from overseas Vietnamese, the Fatherland Front Committee will coordinate with relevant agencies to study them and find appropriate solutions.

At the event, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to present certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Fatherland Front to 8 collectives and 18 overseas Vietnamese individuals who have achieved outstanding results in community work and contributed to their homeland.
