Over the past 5 years, closely following the province's socio-economic development plan and agricultural, forestry and fishery production planning, the Elderly Association at all levels has mobilized cadres, members and the elderly to exploit the potential and strengths of the locality to promote the development of agricultural, forestry and fishery production.

Many elderly people have limited health but are very enthusiastic about working and producing, boldly developing family economy associated with cooperative economy, shifting crop and livestock structure, promoting the application of scientific and technological advances in production...

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu - Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee awarded the Provincial People's Committee's certificate of merit to the elderly who are good at economics.

Based on the criteria for evaluating typical elderly people with good economic performance issued under Plan No. 574/2022/KH-NCT of the Central Association, the Elderly Association of Tien Giang province has a total of 4,872 elderly people recognized as good economic performers at all levels. Specifically, there are 4,344 elderly people recognized at the grassroots level, 462 elderly people at the district level, 55 elderly people at the provincial level and 11 elderly people recognized as good economic performers at the central level.

Speaking at the Conference, Dr. Huynh Thanh Lap, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association, highly appreciated the efforts of the association at all levels and the elderly in Tien Giang province in good production and business.

In the coming time, he requested that the Elderly Association at all levels continue to promote the role of the elderly. Officials at all levels should be close to the elderly to understand their thoughts and aspirations for contribution; care for, help and create conditions for the elderly to do business; promote propaganda work, the Party's guidelines and policies in caring for and promoting the role of the elderly; spread good examples of the elderly doing business well; invite the elderly to join the Association, organize appropriate activities... so that the elderly can live happily, healthily and happily.

In the context of an increasingly aging population, the elderly in Tien Giang and the whole country continue to promote their role in building and developing the country...

NCT good at economics is awarded Certificate of Merit.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Elderly people in Tien Giang who are good at doing business attended today's meeting. Elderly associations at all levels need to promote the movement of elderly people doing business better.

In the new situation, the Elderly Association at all levels, local authorities, unions, fronts... need to do better in three things: protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly in the new situation, advising the People's Committees at all levels to issue plans to do these three things better.

Elderly associations at all levels need to innovate and improve their methods of operation so that the movement of elderly people doing good business can spread more and more.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded 20 certificates of merit, the Provincial Association of the Elderly granted 35 certificates and commended 35 elderly people with good economic performance in the period of 2018-2023, and selected 4 elderly people to attend the National Conference to commend elderly people with good economic performance.

It is known that Tien Giang province has 194,880 elderly people. Of which, the Elderly Association members are 177,671 people.
