
Vinh Long province currently has 3 national treasures, 19 national intangible cultural heritages and 214 ranked relics. Of these, there are 2 special national relics, 45 national relics and 167 provincial relics. This is a favorable condition for the province to develop cultural-historical tourism in a new space.
Highlights of the festivals
Visiting, experiencing and participating in the activities of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week to celebrate the Ok Om Bok festival in 2025 for the first time at Ao Ba Om campus, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu could not help but be surprised by the vibrant and impressive festival space. She especially loved the traditional handmade products of the Khmer people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu, Tan Hanh ward, excitedly said: “I am very impressed with the stalls and traditional products of the Khmer people such as masks, handicrafts, flat rice, fruits… I am very impressed.
Coming here, the atmosphere is very joyful and bustling. I hope the festival will continue to be maintained to promote to everyone... contributing to promoting tourism products of Vinh Long province".

This festival has 9 clusters of communes and wards in the province participating in the exhibition space, introducing to people and tourists typical products such as: costumes, traditional musical instruments, pentatonic orchestra, agricultural and fishing tools, wood carvings, and OCOP products.
In particular, visitors can enjoy typical products of the Khmer people such as: flat rice, flower mats, wax coconut jam, crow apple bananas, quach fruit...
The stalls are arranged around the green area of Ao Ba Om, creating a beautiful, colorful space, helping visitors immerse themselves in the festival and better understand the material and spiritual cultural life of the Khmer people.

Le Ngoc Han, a student in Tieu Can, shared: "Today, my friends and I came to the festival. I feel very proud because the Khmer musical instruments are very diverse and rich, and the costumes are beautiful and colorful."

The traditional cultural heritage of the Khmer people is a valuable asset that needs to be preserved, maintained and promoted. The Culture, Sports and Tourism Week celebrating the Ok Om Bok Festival in 2025 carries out the mission of honoring and widely promoting the image of the Khmer people and culture with profound human values, opening up a new space for exchange.
The week also promotes the image of a dynamic, friendly, affectionate and hospitable Vinh Long, demonstrating the aspiration to rise up, affirming the identity and pride of Vietnamese culture in the period of integration and development.
New space
To exploit and promote the potential and advantages, form typical tourism products and strengths of the province, the culture, sports and tourism sector of Vinh Long province has been coordinating and calling for tourism investment projects, restructuring tourism products, and improving the service quality of tourist areas and spots of the province.

Accordingly, the province has implemented many projects calling for investment in the fields of culture and tourism with a total investment capital of thousands of billions of VND. Specifically: Mang Thit Brick and Pottery Kiln Investment Project with an investment capital of 3,450 billion VND; attracting social resources of over 2,500 billion VND to invest in tourism projects at Ba Dong beach tourism area, Khmer Cultural-Tourism Village, focusing on calling for and implementing 23 infrastructure projects serving tourism development with an estimated value of 6,000 billion VND, in which the Cho Lach Cultural-Tourism Village project has approved the 1/2,000 scale construction zoning plan for Cai Ga islet tourism area, Cho Lach commune...
In addition, the province is also implementing dozens of large projects to serve cultural and tourism development in the province.

In particular, Vinh Long is a land of "geomancy and talent" that has long been associated with the three ethnic groups Kinh, Hoa, and Khmer with a heroic revolutionary tradition and national heroes. Vinh Long has a lot of potential for cultural and historical tourism such as: Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung, Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh, Female Heroine Nguyen Thi Ut (Ut Tich), Professor-Academician Tran Dai Nghia, Professor-Labor Hero-People's Doctor Nguyen Thien Thanh....
Vinh Long province is a place where three main ethnic groups Kinh, Khmer, and Chinese have long lived together and created a unique culture with many traditional festivals, unique arts and culture, historical relics, unique architecture and art.

In addition, the province currently has more than 70 traditional craft villages: Tra Cuon Banh Tet Village, Mang Thit Brick and Ceramic Village, Son Doc Rice Paper Traditional Craft Village, My Long Rice Paper Traditional Craft Village, Cho Lach Ornamental Flower and Seedling Village... These are outstanding cultural resources for developing craft village tourism.
Vinh Long province currently has 356 accommodation establishments, including 121 hotels (1 5-star hotel), 163 motels, and 70 homestays. The province has 25 tourist attractions recognized by the Mekong Delta Tourism Association as typical tourist attractions and 13 provincial-level tourist areas and attractions.
Five homestays in the province have won the ASEAN 2025 homestay award, and the Con Chim tourist destination has won the ASEAN Community Tourism Award.

The tourism industry continues to invest in infrastructure of key tourist areas; strengthen promotion, advertising and training of tourism human resources with capacity and professionalism, focusing on behavioral culture and service style; build a safe and civilized tourism environment, enhance tourist attractiveness to increase length of stay, average spending and return rate of tourists; Encourage and create conditions to support local people to participate in tourism.
