Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Barcelona in El Clasico was overshadowed by Vinicius Junior's tantrum.

The image of the Brazilian striker angrily leaving the field, going straight into the tunnel after being substituted mid-match caused a stir in Madrid public opinion - and also prompted Jorge Valdano, a legendary former player, coach and sporting director of Real, to speak out with a warning.

According to Valdano, Vinicius’s actions were the clearest sign that the player was “losing control”. He said that the 25-year-old striker let his emotions overwhelm him, reacting impulsively instead of controlling himself. The incident became more serious when, after the match, Vinicius got into an argument with Lamine Yamal in a scuffle between players from both teams.

Valdano said Vinicius had a good game, was in good physical condition and believed he could help the team make a difference, so he did not accept coach Xabi Alonso's decision to substitute him. However, he stressed that Real Madrid cannot tolerate putting personal ego above collective discipline.

With experience working at the Bernabeu in many positions, Valdano believes that “lack of control” is becoming an inherent problem for Vinicius – something that could have a long-term impact on his career. “If he doesn’t know how to adjust himself, he will harm himself in an environment that requires discipline and character like Real Madrid,” Valdano warned.

Vinicius's outburst - even if it was just for a few minutes - is ringing bells about the attitude of a star who is expected to become a new generation leader at the Bernabéu.
