On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange on October 28, continuing the downward trend from yesterday, VN-Index lost 22.74 points in the morning, temporarily stopping at 1,629.8 points. Investors continued to sell pillar stocks.

However, in the afternoon session, especially after 2:00 p.m., strong demand helped the market reverse and go up quickly and strongly.
At the end of the session, VN-Index increased by 27.96 points (1.69%), to 1,680.5 points; VN30-Index stopped at 1,949.28 points, up 48.52 points (2.55%).
Green dominated the entire market with 219 stocks increasing and 94 stocks decreasing; in the VN30 basket, only 2 stocks decreased, while 28 stocks increased in price.
Notably, VIC stock – which was one of the stocks that took away the most points from the VN-Index in the previous session – today became the main driving force of the recovery, increasing by 2.85%, contributing 5.39 points to the general index.
The banking group also contributed significantly with 5 representatives in the top 10 codes supporting the VN-Index, including VPB (+2.1 points), TCB, VCB (each code more than 1 point), along with STB and BID (both contributed nearly 1 point).
By industry group, hardware – equipment, software – services, essential aviation trade, and transportation are the sectors with the strongest growth. Banking, real estate, and industrial goods groups all increased by over 1%.
On the contrary, among the groups that decreased, only consumer services, commercial and professional services, and telecommunications decreased by more than 1%.
Liquidity reached nearly 30,000 billion VND. A very positive point is that foreign investors were net buyers with a purchase value of nearly 4,912 billion VND and a sale value of approximately 3,375 billion VND.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, at the end of the session, the HNX-Index increased by 1.42 points (0.54%) to 266.78 points; the HNX30-Index stopped at 576.19 points after increasing by 6.5 points (1.14%). The total transfer value was nearly 2,500 billion VND.
