Winning the AVC Challenger Cup 2023 championship after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Indonesia, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has earned a ticket to participate in the world- class tournament - FIVB Challenger Cup.

After easy victories in the outer rounds, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team confidently entered the final match of the AVC Challenger Cup against host Indonesia.

Effective blocking situations were the highlight that helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team break away at the crucial moment in set 1 and easily win 25-18.

Vietnam women's volleyball team won the 2023 AVC Challenger Cup, winning the right to participate in the world-class tournament.

However, the easy victory in set 1 made the Vietnamese women's volleyball team play somewhat subjectively in set 2. Ineffective first-step situations made coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team always fall into a state of chasing when Indonesia played with determination.

Towards the end of set 2, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team made great efforts to equalize the score, even taking the lead 25-24. But at the decisive moment, Indonesia showed their mettle and finally won 27-25 after a powerful smash from Megawati.

The victory in set 2 helped Indonesia's spirit rise very high in set 3 while the Vietnamese women's volleyball team showed confusion in coordination. Thanh Thuy and her teammates often made mistakes, creating opportunities for Indonesia to take a deep lead and have a relatively easy victory 25-21 in set 3.

The fourth set continued to witness Indonesia's rise, with the opposing team leading by 5 points at times. When they were in a "nothing to lose" position, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team rose strongly at the end of the fourth set. The blocking situations of the Vietnamese players somewhat limited Megawati's ability to smash the ball. It was the failed smash of the main player of the host Indonesia that brought the 25-20 victory to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the fourth set.

In the decisive set 5, both teams played with concentration, fighting for each point despite their declining physical strength. At the crucial moments, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was the braver team to win 15-13 after a situation of smashing the ball to block the opponent.

With a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Indonesia after more than 2 hours of play, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the AVC Challenger Cup 2023 championship. This title helped coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team qualify for the world-class FIVB Challenger Cup taking place in France at the end of July.
