Four Vietnamese deaths in Thailand: Makeup artist Dinh Phu passes away at age 37

On July 17, Ms. Tuy, the makeup artist's biological mother Phu Temple (one of the 6 people who died in a hotel in Bangkok on the afternoon of July 16, Thai authorities have made public their photos and personal information) said she heard the news of her son's death on the evening of July 16.

When she heard the sad news about her son, Mrs. Tuy fainted, unable to believe it. When she read the newspaper and saw the information about her son released by the Thai police, she and her husband were shocked to learn that Dinh Phu had passed away. Mrs. Tuy said the family is waiting for more information from the authorities about her son's death.

Mr. Dung (Dinh Phu's father) said the family was heartbroken when he saw Dinh Phu's photo on the list of 6 people who died in Thailand. The incident was sudden, and Mr. Dung hoped the embassy would facilitate the return of his son's body home for the funeral.

According to his family, Dinh Phu told his parents that he had to go to Thailand for three days (July 12-14). However, at noon on July 14, when Mr. Dung contacted him, the makeup artist said he had something to do and would stay until July 15.

"Since that call, I have not received any phone calls from my son. I had a bad feeling but did not dare to say it out loud. But I also did not think about this unimaginable thing," said Mr. Dung.

Currently, friends and students of the makeup artist have left many condolence comments on Dinh Phu's personal page. In his most recent post, he posted a photo of himself enjoying street food in Bangkok, Thailand.

According to Bangkok Post, 4/6 victims death in hotel in Bangkok, Thailand at 5:30 p.m. on July 16, Vietnamese nationality. Among them, the male victim, Vietnamese, was identified as a makeup artist. Tran Dinh Phu (commonly known as Phu Gia Gia, 37 years old).

"I was shocked and couldn't believe it when I heard the news. Phu and I have been friends for more than 15 years. In my mind, Phu is a kind, lovely, talented and passionate friend," said Amy Dao, Phu Gia Gia's friend.

Amy Dao took a screenshot of a text message with the 37-year-old makeup artist. She said the two often talked about life, but now they can't see each other again. "Although what happened is very sad and mysterious, I hope Phu will go peacefully and be reborn soon," Amy Dao shared.

My Nguyen, a student of Tran Dinh Phu, was shocked to hear that the makeup teacher had passed away. "Mr. Phu taught me for 8 years. We recently met, comforted and encouraged each other. He is someone I always respected and guided me in my work. I hope he passes away peacefully," My Nguyen shared.

After news of the six victims who died in Bangkok appeared online, many people could not believe it and called Phu Temple but could not be contacted. After seeing the victim's photos and information from Thai authorities, friends left many condolences, hoping Dinh Phu would pass away peacefully.

Dinh Phu's most recent post was posted on July 6. The makeup artist checked in while enjoying street food in Thailand. Under the post, runner-up Le Hang and many makeup artists left comments expressing their condolences.

Previously, Bangkok Post Bangkok police received information about a group of tourists who died at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Pathum Wan district at 5:30 p.m. on July 16.

There were two American victims, Chong Sherine (56 years old) and Dang Hung Van (55 years old). The remaining four are Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan (47 years old), Pham Hong Thanh (49 years old), Tran Dinh Phu (37 years old), and Nguyen Thi Phuong (46 years old).

Grandfather Theeradet Thumsuthee, head of the Bangkok police investigation department, confirmed that the six tourists likely died from poisoning. "We need to find out the cause. What we can prove now is that they did not commit suicide," Mr Thiti said.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin visited the scene on the evening of July 16, realizing the severity of the situation and the impact on Thailand's tourism industry. According to government spokesman Chai Wacharonke, the prime minister has ordered officials to take urgent measures to reassure tourists and the public.
