According to the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), the regulations on the slaughter control stamp used at domestic slaughterhouses are as follows: Rectangular stamps (80 mm long, 50 mm wide), with the word "KSGM" engraved in the middle of the stamp, are used to stamp on cattle carcasses for domestic consumption; Oval stamps will be stamped on cattle meat that must be treated with veterinary hygiene, with the word "VSTY TREATMENT" engraved inside; For cattle meat that must be destroyed, a triangular stamp will be stamped on the carcass, with a height of 22 mm in the middle of the stamp, with the word "DESTRUCTION" engraved.
Images circulating online show a pig with abnormal skin signs and a rectangular stamp used by veterinary agencies to stamp on cattle carcasses for domestic consumption.
Previously, on June 2, the Hau Giang Province Interdisciplinary Delegation inspected the Dung Nga Livestock Slaughterhouse (Long Hoa A1 Hamlet, Long Thanh Commune, Phung Hiep District, Hau Giang Province). Mr. Nguyen Chi Cuong, representative of the Dung Nga Slaughterhouse, said that this is a slaughterhouse for Vietnam Joint Stock Company.
Mr. Ha Huu Tam, representative of the Joint Stock Company, confirmed that the image of sick pigs posted on social networks in recent days was indeed an image from March 26, 2022, at this Dung Nga slaughterhouse. Mr. Tam said that the image was taken to report to the company and veterinary agencies. After that, the slaughterhouse and the company coordinated to destroy the pigs at the slaughterhouse and use them as fish feed.
Authorities inspect Dung Nga slaughterhouse.
Consumers wonder, if it is a sick pig with very clear signs of abnormality on the skin as in the picture, then the record must be made immediately for destruction, why is it necessary to slaughter and cut up the meat? At the same time, when detecting abnormal signs on the skin of the pig, it must be destroyed, so why do the authorities stamp the livestock products to show that they are allowed for domestic consumption?
The representative of the Joint Stock Company said that the Dung Nga slaughterhouse took pictures to send to the veterinary agency and the company to report the destruction. Does this mean that the officer on duty controlling the slaughter at the facility of the veterinary agency did not detect any abnormal signs on the pig's skin when stamping or was not present when the sick pig was slaughtered?
At the regular press conference in May held on June 3, Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, requested the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate in clarifying the information that Vietnam Joint Stock Company was accused of selling dirty meat, which is causing public uproar.
