Mr. Vu Tien Thanh received a heavy penalty for insulting the referee. |
"The Disciplinary Board has imposed heavy penalties on the HAGL officials for insulting the referees. Mr. Vu Tien Thanh was banned from directing 4 matches and fined 20 million VND. Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh was banned from directing 3 matches and fined 15 million VND," Head of the VFF Disciplinary Board Vu Xuan Thanh told VietNamNet.
According to the VFF Disciplinary Board's assessment, this penalty is not the maximum penalty (6 matches) but is enough to be a deterrent. The VFF Disciplinary Board issues the penalty based on the reports of the parties, punishing according to Article 40 of the VFF Disciplinary Regulations.
Previously, in the match where HAGL lost 0-1 to Ha Tinh in round 19 of the V-League, Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh and Head of HAGL delegation Nguyen Tan Anh arbitrarily opened the door to the referee room and verbally insulted the referee team on duty.
HAGL reacted because they thought the referee made the wrong decision when he did not recognize Minh Vuong's goal in the middle of the first half. In this situation, after watching VAR, referee Tran Ngoc Anh discovered that HAGL's Dung Quang Nho had an impact with Huynh Tan Tai in the middle of the field. The slow-motion replay on television also clearly showed that the home team player committed the foul before Minh Vuong received the ball and kicked the ball into Ha Tinh's net.
