Regarding the garbage truck falling into Huu Trach River, as of 3:00 p.m. this afternoon (November 21), the Thua Thien Hue provincial government is still mobilizing people and vehicles to organize rescue, search and rescue, and search for the two missing victims.

Initially, the authorities identified the two victims as Mr. Ton That Tin (born in 1997, residing in alley 9, Le Duc Anh street, Thuy Van ward) and Mr. Nguyen Dang Thanh (born in 1966, residing in Phuong Duc ward, both in Hue city).

At the scene, authorities cordoned off the area and determined the location of the garbage truck lying on the riverbed. However, upon checking the cabin, divers did not find the two victims.

As reported, at around 7:15 this morning, Mr. Tin drove a garbage truck with license plate 75C - 044.83 from National Highway 49B to Binh Thanh commune.

While moving to the middle of Binh Thanh suspension bridge (across Huu Trach river), the garbage truck suddenly lost control, collided and hit the right side of the bridge and fell into the river, causing Mr. Tin and Mr. Thanh to go missing.

Sharing with VietNamNet, a relative of Mr. Tin said that early this morning, the family was shocked to hear that Mr. Tin and his colleagues had an accident.

“When they heard that Tin had an accident, the whole family quickly rushed to the scene. K. (Tin’s wife), although pregnant, also asked her family to take her to the scene to wait for news of her husband,” Tin’s relatives shared.

According to the reporter's observation, in front of the porch of a level 4 house near Binh Thanh suspension bridge, Ms. K. sat absentmindedly looking at the place where Mr. Tin had the accident, muttering as if praying for a miracle to come to her husband and his colleagues.
