U.23 Vietnam changed radically
At 10pm Vietnam time on October 13, the U.23 Vietnam team had their second friendly match with U.23 Qatar at the 321 Club Stadium, one of the most modern sports complexes in the UAE. The highlight of the match was that interim coach Dinh Hong Vinh completely changed 100% of the starting lineup from the previous match.
With the ultimate goal of giving the players a chance to play and conduct experiments, U.23 Vietnam made a big change, letting the reserve players from the previous match play from the start such as goalkeeper Nguyen Tan, defender Nam Hai, Tuan Phong or midfielders Thanh Trung, Thai Son (captain) and striker Van Thuan...
It is understandable that this brand new team did not start the match smoothly. The names that rarely or for the first time played together created a bit of confusion, causing U.23 Vietnam to receive 2 goals in the first half, before Van Thuan shortened the score to 1-2 and entered the break.

In the second half, U.23 Vietnam created a better game, especially since sending familiar players onto the field such as Van Truong, Ly Duc, Quoc Viet, Le Viktor, Anh Quan... The dominance of the game was shown more clearly, quite similar to the previous match.
After the opportunities were created, the equalizer 2-2 came thanks to the "King of the Youth Tournament" Quoc Viet. This can be seen as a great encouragement and psychological relief for the player who played well but has not scored any goals in 7 official matches with coach Kim Sang-sik.
Unfortunately, after the equalizer, despite playing better, U.23 Vietnam conceded another goal in the 78th minute. Although they could not equalize, this can be considered a good performance from the team without 8 key players called up to the Vietnam national team. The 2 goals scored by Van Thuan and Quoc Viet are also good news for the U.23 Vietnam attack.
