Along with lawyers nationwide, over the past 28 years, the Binh Phuoc lawyers have made good progress, affirming their position and role in society. Not only are they strong in their profession, but the lawyers have also built a friendly and responsible image towards the community through their dedicated and meaningful work.

Binh Phuoc Provincial Bar Association focuses on training and professional development for its members.

The Binh Phuoc Provincial Bar Association is managing 31 practicing organizations, 9 branches and 15 transaction offices with 104 lawyers. These organizations are not only present in the provincial center but also expand to remote districts and communes, helping people easily access necessary legal services, thereby ensuring legal rights and raising legal awareness in the community. It is worth noting that the proportion of lawyers with post-graduate degrees is increasing, accounting for about 18% of the total number of lawyers in the association. In addition, the association has also attracted 19 more trainee lawyers, creating a solid foundation for the long-term development of the legal profession in Binh Phuoc province.

With the goal of developing the team and improving professional quality, Binh Phuoc Provincial Bar Association focuses on training and professional development for its members. In 2024, the association organized a training course on "New points of the 2024 Land Law", attracting 93 lawyers to participate. This not only helps lawyers update new knowledge but also contributes to improving the quality of legal advice, especially in the field of land.

The delegation has also actively contributed to providing comments on draft legal documents and reviewing policies to improve the legal system. The delegation’s lawyers have participated in nearly 20 seminars and reviewed important draft legal documents, such as regulations on compensation for damages when reclaiming land, compensation for damages to housing and construction works. These contributions are all based on practice and are highly feasible.

Spread Justice

In 2024, the practicing organizations of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Bar Association participated in 1,322 cases in many fields, from civil, criminal, commercial to land, labor, marriage and family. Of which, 847 cases had lawyers participating in the proceedings and 475 cases provided legal advice. Revenue from these activities reached more than 4.6 billion VND, tax payment was more than 264 million VND, an increase of 14% compared to 2023. In particular, the group carried out 108 assigned cases at the request of the prosecution agency, protecting the rights of subjects eligible for legal aid, improving the quality of trials and protecting justice. These figures not only reflect the strong development of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Bar Association but also demonstrate the increasingly improved quality of legal services, meeting the diverse needs of the people and the business community, thereby contributing more to the state budget.

In particular, the assigned defense is an important part of protecting the legal rights of defendants, especially those who do not have the financial capacity to hire a lawyer. In 2024, the delegation received and implemented 108 requests for the assignment of defense counsel to protect the rights of citizens.

Responsibility to the community

Legal dissemination and legal aid activities, bringing the law to villages and hamlets are an important part of raising legal awareness for the community, especially in remote areas. The delegation organized legal dissemination programs in Tan Lap commune, Dong Phu district and Minh Lap commune, Chon Thanh town, to help people easily access important legal information, especially about changes in new legal regulations related to land and the Law on Grassroots Mediation. This activity not only provides information but also directly supports, advises, and answers questions for people about civil matters, land, inheritance, marriage and family.

At the same time, the delegation identified charity and community support activities as an indispensable part of the mission of a lawyer. In the past year, the delegation contributed 473 million VND to social charity activities. Of which, 630 gifts were presented in 6 districts and towns and 88 gifts were given to the Provincial Social Protection Center, with a total value of 315 million VND; 67.5 million VND was given to support people in the northern provinces and cities to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi); 90.5 million VND was given to the poor in Tan Lap commune, Dong Phu district and Minh Lap commune, Chon Thanh town.

The above results show that the Binh Phuoc Provincial Bar Association is not only solid in its profession but also builds a friendly and responsible image towards the community through its dedicated and meaningful work. Thereby, affirming the important position of the association in the local judicial system, contributing to enhancing the prestige and professionalism of the legal profession in the province.
