Overpassing the flooded tunnel at night, one person missing in Phu Tho

(PLVN) - At around 2:00 a.m. on June 23, in Vo Mieu commune (Thanh Son district, Phu Tho), a young man was swept away by floodwaters along with his motorbike while trying to cross an overflow culvert at night, even though there were signs warning of danger in the area.

According to information from the People's Committee of Vo Mieu Commune, Thanh Son District, at around 2:00 a.m. on June 23, a group of young men drove a motorbike through the overflow area in Vang Hamlet, Vo Mieu Commune - where a sign had been posted warning of dangerous flood water.

Despite the rising water level at that time, the group of young men still tried to cross the spillway. When they reached the middle of the tunnel, a young man and his motorbike were suddenly swept away by the floodwaters.

Immediately after receiving the information, local authorities coordinated with police, militia and other functional units to search for the missing person. However, due to the strong river currents and complicated weather, the search encountered many difficulties.

As of noon the same day, the victim had not been found. Search efforts were still being urgently deployed by the forces.
