After 3 defeats, Coach Mai Duc Chung admitted that "spirit cannot make up for expertise", the Vietnamese women's team has a big difference in class with the world's leading teams. Before entering the matches in the "death group" with the defending champion USA, the defending runner-up Netherlands and the very strong European team Portugal, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team soon determined that it would be difficult to continue, however, the team always showed a strong fighting spirit with the desire to get the best results.

Throughout the journey at the 2023 Women's World Cup, fans have always followed and given many compliments and pride to the "diamond girls" of Vietnam. The players have played very bravely, resiliently, and undauntedly. Despite losing, the spirit and colors of Vietnam have been affirmed in the world women's football arena.

Flying directly to New Zealand to watch the matches of the Vietnamese Women's Football Team with the US and Portugal, after each match, Mr. Doan Viet Trieu, Head Coach of Thai Nguyen Women's Football Club - T&T, had an interview with reporters of Thai Nguyen Newspaper to comment and analyze. Coach Doan Viet Trieu commented that against strong opponents, Vietnam encountered many difficulties in controlling the ball, defending and had very few opportunities to attack.

In the first match against the US team, the Vietnamese team played a crowded defense, neutralized many dangerous situations of the opponent but had almost no chance to attack. In both matches against Portugal and the Netherlands, the Vietnamese team showed their desire to score goals, so they tried to attack first, pushing high when they had the ball. However, due to the difference in class, technique and physique, the defense of the Vietnamese women's team had many gaps, which were exploited by the opponent and turned into goals.

On the journey to the 2023 Women's World Cup, the Vietnamese female players all played their best with the spirit of warriors. The most prominent players are: Kim Thanh, Duong Thi Van, Bich Thuy, Huynh Nhu, Thanh Nha... For Thai Nguyen fans, a name that received special attention is My Anh, a player of Thai Nguyen - T&T Women's Football Club. In the two matches against the US and the Netherlands, My Anh played impressively after being brought in from the bench. Mr. Doan Van Cong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, commented: With attacking moves, My Anh showed strength, speed and left her mark in dangerous crosses for the opponent's goal. Mr. Doan Viet Trieu added: At Thai Nguyen - T&T Women's Football Club, My Anh is one of the outstanding players with high professional qualifications. As a midfielder with the ability to defend and attack at speed, My Anh is very suitable for the defensive, counter-attacking style of the Vietnamese team.

Despite their early exit from the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Vietnam’s “diamond girls” have learned many valuable lessons, as coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized. After this first World Cup in history, experts and fans all hope that women’s football will receive greater investment so that Vietnam can affirm its position on the world women’s football “map” and achieve better results in the following World Cups.
