In 2023, Ban Cau received investment support from the State to open 2 new roads, with a total length of 6 km. To mobilize people to donate land for road construction, the Front Work Committee and the Steering Committee for New Rural Construction of the village actively propagated and mobilized people, in which cadres and party members set an example. For example, the family of Village Chief Cu A Lu volunteered to donate 4,000 m2 of land and 1,000 cinnamon trees to open the road. "I am the Village Chief, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, I will take the lead in donating land to build new rural areas. First, I must donate land first so that the people will follow," said Mr. Cu A Lu, Head of Ban Cau, Tan Duong Commune, Bao Yen District.
Consensus among the people is the decisive factor for Ban Cau to complete the rural traffic criteria.
With 90 households, 100% of Mong ethnic people, a high poverty rate, Ban Cau is a highland area, almost the most difficult area of Tan Duong commune. However, thanks to good propaganda and mobilization work and the exemplary leadership of people like Mr. Cu A Lu, as well as a number of other party members, it has spread to most households. In 2023, 41 households in the village volunteered to donate 18,000 m2 of land along with many trees and labor days to build roads. Every month, the village mobilizes people to participate in cleaning the roads to make them more spacious and clean. "I volunteered to donate land when the State invested in building the road. Previously, the road was narrow and difficult to travel, and motorbikes could not travel. Building a wide, clean road makes it easy to transport cassava, corn, and rice, no longer difficult," said Ms. Cu Thi Tung, Ban Cau, Tan Duong commune, Bao Yen district.
Mr. Dang Van Thao, Deputy Head of Propaganda Department of Tan Duong Commune, Bao Yen District said: "Regarding the propaganda work, in the beginning, the Party Committee and the government actually got involved many times. The initial propaganda work encountered many difficulties. However, with the efforts of propaganda, people participated very enthusiastically, donating land to build roads."
The consensus among the people is the decisive factor for a difficult locality like Ban Cau to complete the criteria for rural transport. The effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization work not only creates consensus and determination, but also gradually eliminates the mindset of waiting and relying on the support of the State, so that people can participate more proactively, voluntarily and responsibly in building new rural areas.
