Building Ba Be landscape into a national tourist area

Bac Kan province has approved the project to develop Ba Be tourist area into a national tourist area for the period 2022-2030, with a vision to 2050. This is an important step for the province to realize the goal of turning tourism into a spearhead economy.

Ba Be Lake scenic spot located in Ba Be National Park is a valuable national tourism resource.

Therefore, the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress Bac Kan The 2020-2025 term has identified one of the important tasks as building this landscape into a national tourist area

In the project, Bac Kan aims to protect tourism resources, increase tourist attraction; complete the transportation system and tourism infrastructure; by 2030, the tourist area will meet the criteria for recognition as a national tourist area according to the Law on Tourism.

Regarding specific goals, Bac Kan strives to welcome 1 million visitors by 2030; about 1.35 million visitors by 2035; and about 2-2.5 million visitors by 2050.

The tourist area ensures adequate and quality facilities for tourists including hotels, restaurants, entertainment services, and health care. The protection and preservation of a clean environment and the protection of tourism resources are well implemented.

Bac Kan forecasts that when it becomes a national tourist area, tourism growth There will be new steps forward. The number of visitors is forecast to be more than 485,000 in 2025 and will increase to 1 million in 2030; tourism workers will increase from about 3,000 people to more than 15,000 people; the number of accommodation rooms will increase from 470 to 2,400 rooms...

To realize the project, Bac Kan assigned Ba Be district and specialized sectors to determine scale and boundaries of tourist areas; protection of tourism resources; development of tourism technical infrastructure systems; development of tourism products and services...

According to the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, attract investment plays a crucial role in the construction results and effectiveness of Ba Be National Tourist Area in the future.

Therefore, this locality directs the adjustment, supplementation and completion of policies that directly affect the development of Ba Be Tourist Area to create a favorable and attractive business environment for investors.

Administrative reform towards simplifying administrative procedures, especially in the fields of investment, site clearance, infrastructure development, tourism services development... to attract domestic and foreign investors and tourism businesses. Encourage the establishment of new ones and improve the business capacity of local tourism businesses.

Ba Be Tourist Area Ba Be district, Bac Kan province has many potentials and special advantages in terms of natural landscape, ecosystem and biodiversity, combined with the rich cultural traditions of ethnic minorities.

In 2004, Ba Be National Park was recognized as an ASEAN natural heritage. In 2005, Ba Be Lake was included in the list of 20 most special freshwater lakes in the world that need to be protected and is the "green pearl of humanity".

In 2011, the Ramsar Convention Secretariat recognized it as the world's 1,938th Ramsar site (wetland of international importance). In 2012, Ba Be Lake was ranked as a special national monument.

However, since then, tourism development here has not been effective, the number of tourists is very small.

Bac Kan hopes and is determined to build Ba Be national tourist area to create a breakthrough for local tourism.
