According to the plan just issued by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the 2025 International Festival of Ngoc Linh Ginseng (Vietnamese Ginseng) and Medicinal Herbs will take place from August 1-3, 2025 with the theme "Connecting values and affirming Vietnamese brands". The event is expected to be a highlight to strongly promote the national brand of Ngoc Linh Ginseng - a rare medicinal herb only found in Vietnam to a large number of people, investors, scientists and businesses at home and abroad.
The opening ceremony of the Festival is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. on August 1, 2025, at March 24 Square, Tam Ky City. The opening ceremony will include a reenactment of the Ginseng God Procession and a special art program.

The scientific workshop “Ngoc Linh Ginseng - From national product to global brand” took place on August 1, bringing together researchers, businesses, and managers to analyze the current situation, potential, and solutions for developing raw material areas, preserving genetic resources, and perfecting policy mechanisms for the medicinal plant industry.
Exhibition space for Ngoc Linh Ginseng, medicinal herbs, OCOP products, cuisine, traditional craft products, etc. will be held throughout the festival at 24/3 Square, Tam Ky City. This is an opportunity for cooperatives and local businesses to connect with the market and find sustainable output.
Ginseng and medicinal herb tours, Marathon, Ngoc Linh Ginseng International Golf Tournament 2025, and organizing a songwriting contest about Ngoc Linh Ginseng and tourism promotion activities... are a series of activities to increase experiences, stimulate tourism, and create an image of the raw material area associated with a unique natural and cultural identity.
Ngoc Linh ginseng is considered a “national treasure” of the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry, with a high saponin content and scientifically proven pharmacological value. However, this product has not yet reached its commensurate commercial potential due to small-scale production, a disjointed supply chain, and limited promotion and brand standardization activities.
The organization of the International Festival of Ngoc Linh Ginseng (Vietnamese Ginseng) and Medicinal Herbs in 2025 aims to promote the brand of Ngoc Linh Ginseng (Vietnamese Ginseng) and medicinal herbs to the people in the country and international friends; preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the ginseng and medicinal herb growing areas of the province.
At the same time, it creates opportunities for domestic and international exchange of experiences, knowledge and technology on the management, conservation and promotion of the value of Ngoc Linh Ginseng (Vietnamese Ginseng); thereby, promoting socio-economic development, developing eco-tourism, community and attracting investment to localities in the province.
Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival 2025 is an important cultural and economic event, but more importantly, it is a concrete step to realize the vision of making Ngoc Linh Ginseng one of the country's key products, with a complete value chain from varieties, raw material areas, deep processing to global brands.
Currently, Quang Nam has planned more than 15,500 hectares of Ngoc Linh Ginseng conservation and development area, of which about 13,000 hectares are located at the ideal altitude of 1,200 - 2,000m. Nam Tra My alone - the "capital of Vietnamese ginseng" has actually planted 1,243 hectares. More than 10 enterprises are participating in the production - processing - consumption chain. Regular markets in Nam Tra My continue to consume 30kg of fresh ginseng per session, all showing that the market is clearly taking shape and going into depth. Quang Nam province is also promoting cooperation with localities with traditions and advanced ginseng growing technology such as Korea and China, expanding technical cooperation, sharing experiences and connecting to international markets. |
