Provincial leaders visited dragon fruit products of Thuan Chau district.

Originally a fruit grown in the Southern region, dragon fruit was brought to Son La in 2010, but has shown its suitability to the climate and soil here and has become a quality fruit, bringing high economic efficiency to the people. Currently, the whole province has about 300 hectares of dragon fruit, concentrated in the districts of Mai Son, Thuan Chau, Yen Chau and the City; the output is about 5,000 tons of fruit/year. The province's dragon fruit is increasingly affirming its quality, reputation in the market and has been exported to countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Russia...

However, due to the lack of a certification label, Son La dragon fruit is under great pressure from dragon fruit growing regions across the country. In 2021, the People's Committee of Son La province approved the implementation of the Project to Build, Manage and Develop the "Son La Dragon Fruit" Certification Label for dragon fruit products of Son La province; chaired by the Research and Consulting Company for Technology Transfer and Investment (CONCETTI) and headed by engineer Tran Quang Minh.

To implement the project, the group reviewed, evaluated and selected 5 cooperatives to pilot the "Son La Dragon Fruit" certification brand model, including: Ngoc Hoang Agricultural Cooperative; Binh Thuan General Production and Service Cooperative; Tay Bac Organic Agricultural Production Cooperative; Kien Cuong Phieng Khoai Cooperative; Thanh Dat Fruit Cooperative.

The Cooperative being granted the right to use the "Son La Dragon Fruit" certification mark will be a favorable condition for the Cooperative to continue promoting the export of dragon fruit products to markets around the world.
