Building a 1,800 billion VND intersection on National Highway 5

Hai Duong The intersection connecting National Highway 17B with National Highway 5 and the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway will solve traffic congestion and reduce traffic accidents.

According to the project investment policy decision issued by the People's Council of Hai Duong province on November 6, the intersection will be built in Kim Xuyen commune, Kim Thanh district and Thuong Quan commune, Kinh Mon town.

The total investment of the project is 1,867 billion VND, of which the central budget supports 1,000 billion VND and 867 billion VND from the Hai Duong provincial budget in the public investment capital source for the period 2021-2025. The investor is the Hai Duong Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, implemented in the period 2023-2025.

The intersection has an overpass on Highway 5, with a reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete structure. The cross-section of the bridge in the intersection includes a roundabout-shaped main bridge with a width of about 19 m, the width of the 4 approach bridges connecting to Highway 5 is about 7 m, the width of the 4 approach bridges connecting Kinh Mon and Kim Thanh sides is about 11 m.

The approach road on National Highway 5 is designed according to the principle of ensuring the current lane size on National Highway 5. The approach road connecting Kinh Mon and Kim Thanh is according to the standards of a level II plain road.

According to the leaders of Hai Duong province, the investment in building the intersection will solve traffic congestion and reduce accidents, gradually improving the province's traffic infrastructure.
