On the evening of August 20, traffic police were present on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, through Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province, to regulate traffic and handle a sleeper bus fire.
Passenger bus caught fire fiercely
Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. the same day, a sleeper bus carrying about 34 passengers traveling on this highway, in the direction of Phan Thiet - Ho Chi Minh City, caught fire when it reached Km 5 (section through Ham Cuong commune, Ham Thuan Nam district).

Discovering the car was on fire, the driver pulled over to the emergency lane, opened the car door and the luggage compartment so that passengers could get their belongings and escape the car.
Immediately afterwards, the fire quickly engulfed the car, causing heavy smoke. Firefighters and rescuers dispatched specialized vehicles to the scene to put out the fire. However, the car was completely burned down, leaving only the frame. Fortunately, all passengers got off the car safely.
At 6:00 p.m. the same day, traffic police were on duty at the scene to regulate traffic.
Earlier that morning, a truck also caught fire on this highway.
