Xiaomi 15 Ultra excites with its Leica-inspired design

Xiaomi is reportedly preparing for the arrival of the top-end Xiaomi 15 Ultra model to launch later this month. While Xiaomi's partnership with Leica is not too surprising, leaked images show a notable design change that promises to bring a new experience to users.

Unlike previous models that had a faux leather or glass back, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra offers a combination of both materials, which creates a luxurious and modern look for the product.

The highlight of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra design is the camera cluster that still retains the outstanding style of Xiaomi smartphones but has been improved to match the sleek appearance of Leica cameras. In particular, the super-small curved design on the 4 sides helps the front glass blend with the body, while the thin bezels create a modern feel.

In addition to its impressive design, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is also equipped with powerful hardware. According to leaked information, the phone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and have a camera system in cooperation with Leica, including a 50 MP main camera (1-inch sensor), a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera and a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the phone in China in late February before making a global debut at the MWC 2025 tech show.
