The Department will change its working process to suit the digital environment. Some tasks will be automated to save processing time, helping officers and civil servants to work less, increase efficiency, and reduce working time. In addition, implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, the Department will pilot a number of special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in science , technology, innovation and national digital transformation, aiming for an average increase of 16-18%/year in the number of patent applications and patent protection certificates, and a commercial exploitation rate of 8-10%.
Currently, the Intellectual Property Office is coordinating with the Ministry Office and the National Digital Transformation Agency to use necessary tools to improve work processes and increase labor productivity, especially in the context that 2025 is the year the Office is resolutely resolving patent applications and industrial property applications that have been pending for many years, striving to completely resolve the backlog of industrial property applications before October 2025. To achieve the set goals, along with improving the technological infrastructure, the entire Office is participating with high determination, working day and night, to improve efficiency and complete assigned tasks.
At the working session with the Department of Intellectual Property, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh emphasized the role of the legal corridor in the field of intellectual property, especially after the issuance of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo . According to Mr. Le Xuan Dinh, the urgent requirement now is to amend the Law on Intellectual Property, and to have a strategy for intellectual property development to affirm the role of this field in the country's socio-economic development and international economic integration.
Currently, the Department is focusing on building and perfecting legal policies related to intellectual property, promoting the exploitation of intellectual property, as well as ensuring the effective enforcement of rights related to intellectual property. In addition, promoting the use of intellectual property analysis tools to improve the efficiency of handling backlog applications as well as improving the efficiency of national intellectual property management and development.
