Handling violations of the law on the street

Faced with the complicated developments of crime and law violations on the streets, the City Police launched a peak campaign to suppress, sweep, and handle crimes and law violations on the streets from May 15 to July 15. After more than half a month of implementation, with the drastic, strong, and effective participation of police units and localities, the crime and law violations on the streets have been basically controlled and contained.

Considered the “iron fist” in the fight against and prevention of crime and law violations on the streets, the 911 force of the City Police has promoted its role and firmly affirmed its “brand” in the hearts of the people and tourists when coming to Da Nang . A series of incidents and violators have been promptly prevented, repelled and suppressed by the 911 force.

After more than half a month of peak deployment alone, the City Police 911 force has detected and effectively prevented dozens of cases/subjects with signs of law violations on the road. Typically, at 2:10 a.m. on May 29, during a patrol in the area of ​​Binh Thai 1 Street (Cam Le District), Team C5-911 discovered a young man driving a motorbike with many suspicious signs, so they stopped the vehicle for inspection.

During the inspection, Team C5-911 discovered and seized from Nguyen Quoc Tuan (born in 1991, Binh Dinh province) a nylon bag containing white solid crystals (crystal meth)... Previously, at 11:30 p.m. on May 13, while patrolling on Ha Huy Tap Street (Thanh Khe District), Team C2-911 discovered Nguyen Dac L. (born in 2005, Bac Ninh province) driving a motorbike without a rearview mirror, so they stopped the vehicle for inspection. During the inspection in the trunk of the vehicle, the 911 force discovered a 20cm long switchblade knife...

The Criminal Police Department (City Police) said that from May 15 to May 31, the 911 force deployed continuous patrols every night with 55 working groups/660 officers and soldiers. Accordingly, nearly 300 people and vehicles were checked; more than 90 cases of violations of traffic safety and security were detected and handed over.

Notably, among them, there were 34 cases under 18 years old, 8 cases were students; 6 subjects used drugs, 3 subjects illegally possessed primitive weapons, 2 swords and 1 pepper spray were seized; 2 subjects gambled online, 3 cases violated alcohol concentration, 1 case/1 subject illegally possessed drugs, 1 package of crystal meth was seized. In addition, the 911 force also promptly detected, prevented, and dispersed many groups of teenagers gathering past midnight on 2 Thang 9 and Nhu Nguyet streets...

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Cong Toan, Deputy Chief of Staff (City Police) said that through analysis, the situation of teenagers gathering, using weapons to fight, disturbing public order, and causing trouble on the streets occurs mostly between 10pm and 4am the next morning (accounting for 60%), mainly concentrated on streets such as: Bach Dang, Tran Phu, 2/9, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Le Duan, Dien Bien Phu (accounting for 70%)...

During the above period, the patrol, checkpoint, control, crime prevention and law violation prevention forces on the streets of the City Police deployed thousands of patrol shifts. Thereby, promptly reminding, propagating and guiding people to comply with the provisions of the law on social order and safety, traffic order and safety; at the same time, detecting and strictly handling cases of intentional violations.

Colonel Nguyen Van Tang, Deputy Director of the City Police, said that the entire force is determined to prevent and reduce theft, pickpocketing, robbery, property destruction, the use of modified and modified vehicles by teenagers, gathering to use dangerous weapons to fight to resolve conflicts, intentionally causing injury, causing disturbances, and disturbing public order.

According to the Criminal Police Department, in the coming time, the 911 force will continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the direction of the City Police Director on strengthening patrols, inspections, detection, prevention and thorough handling of groups of young people gathering, carrying rudimentary weapons, flammable and explosive materials to fight, intentionally causing injuries; subjects driving modified vehicles violating traffic safety and order, disturbing public order; subjects exhibiting theft, loan sharking, gambling; illegal storage and use of drugs, shisha, laughing gas and other illegal acts on the streets, especially before and during holidays, conferences, political and cultural events... taking place, actively contributing to the work of maintaining stability in security and order in the city.

According to statistics from the Staff Department (City Police), in the first 5 months of 2025, there were 98 crimes and law violations on roads and public areas, including acts of robbery, snatching, theft, intentional injury, property destruction, etc. In particular, 20 prominent cases of teenagers gathering to fight, use weapons, and disturb public order with more than 335 participants.
