New with small fire truck for the first time in Vietnam

A company specializing in manufacturing and assembling trucks, Mr. Tran Vinh Ha - Chairman and General Director of Vinh Phat Motors (HCMC) - suddenly launched a very special vehicle, the first double-cabin fire-fighting pickup truck in Vietnam.

This vehicle is called SANDEUR S-100. The vehicle has a compact design, with a width of more than 1.8m, a length of 5.8m (the vehicle body alone is 2m long), a total weight of 3,490kg and can carry 5 people and fire fighting equipment.

The S-100 is fully equipped with basic fire fighting equipment such as water pumps, water tanks, foam tanks, nozzles... and rescue equipment. The vehicle uses a Japanese Isuzu engine, combined with a 4-wheel drive system.

Regulations and standards on fire prevention and fighting, especially fire trucks, are very strict. Therefore, Vinh Phat Motors Company changed and improved continuously for two years to complete the procedures.

The vehicle was tested in practice at the Experimental Center, Department of Security Industry and Department of Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue ( Ministry of Public Security ) and is the only small fire truck that complies with current regulations.

Pickup S.100 is equipped with PTO for use with fire pump. The pump can operate thanks to the vehicle's large oil tank of up to 100 liters.

At the same time, it has the same structure as a normal fire truck with pump equipment (optional one or two pump version), pump flow rate of 20 liters/second (1,200 liters/minute), water tank, foam tank and nozzle that can spray up to 50 - 60 meters.

In addition, the vehicle is also fully equipped with rescue equipment.

Mr. Ha said it took 2 years to change the design, equipment, items, and vehicle configuration according to strict regulations of the authorities.

This type of vehicle is quite special and is the first time it has appeared commercially in Vietnam, supplied by a Vietnamese enterprise. Currently, small fire fighting vehicles are almost non-existent in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, the need for fire fighting in large cities requires this type of vehicle to move "into the alleys" to approach and initially extinguish fires. With houses and narrow alleys, large fire trucks have difficulty accessing immediately, so the need for small fire trucks is seen as necessary.

At the ceremony to announce this small fire truck, Colonel Pham Van Hieu - Deputy Director of the Security Industry Department (Ministry of Public Security) - affirmed that the Pickup S.100 mini fire truck is a model that has been certified by the Vietnam Register, so everyone can use it.

In addition to professional fire fighting units, residential groups, businesses, even farms and factories can own and use this type of vehicle.
