SmartInvest Securities Joint Stock Company (stock code: AAS) also sent a document to the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) informing about the company being fined by the Hanoi Tax Department for violations in the process of tax declaration and payment.

Specifically, SmartInvest has falsely declared revenue not subject to VAT because the unit determined that revenue from goods sold was not subject to tax in March 2022 and the months from May 2022 to November 2022. The company also violated the determination of revenue subject to VAT.

The company also did not allocate input VAT to non-taxable revenue, declared and deducted invoices of businesses that abandoned their business addresses before the tax authority's announcement date, leading to an increase in the amount of VAT payable in 2021 and 2022.

In addition, this enterprise also committed the error of accounting for expenses that are not in accordance with regulations for corporate income tax.

From the above violations, Hanoi Tax Department has decided to collect, fine and fine SmartInvest Securities for late tax payment in the amount of 438 million VND.

At the end of April, Hanoi Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation ( Habeco , stock code: BHN) was also fined up to 1.94 billion VND by the Large Enterprise Tax Department - General Department of Taxation; at the same time, it was forced to pay the full amount of tax arrears of 13 billion VND and the amount of late tax payment of 4.1 billion VND.

In total, the amount of money Habeco was fined, collected and paid for late tax payment was more than 19 billion VND.

The reason is that Habeco violated the deadline for submitting tax declarations; declared incorrect tax bases leading to a reduction in deductible VAT but not leading to a shortage of tax payable; declared incorrect tax bases leading to a shortage of tax payable but the economic transactions were fully reflected in the accounting system, invoices, and legal documents.
