Yen Khanh Many practical works in Humanitarian Month

Humanitarian Month 2023 starts from May 1-31. Looking forward to the peak month of humanitarian and charitable activities, these days, the Red Cross Society at all levels of Yen Khanh district is actively launching and implementing many meaningful tasks towards the community.

Mr. Hoang Van Thang and Ms. Nguyen Thi Sanh in village 19, Khanh Trung commune are in difficult circumstances because their son unfortunately had a traffic accident and needed a large amount of money for treatment. Faced with this situation, the Red Cross of Khanh Trung commune connected and coordinated with the charity club "The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" of Khanh Trung commune to visit, encourage and share with Mr. Thang's family the amount of 21 million VND.

Touched by the help from the benefactor, Mr. Thang shared: The family's circumstances are inherently difficult, and our son had a sudden accident that required a large amount of money for treatment, so we are very worried. The money that the community donated is very meaningful to us during this period. "A piece of food when hungry is worth a whole package when full", we are somewhat reassured because we have more resources to treat our son.

Also during the days when the whole society joined hands to do charity work, members of the Light Up Belief Club of Khanh Thanh commune visited and gave gifts to the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Tuc in Hamlet 2, Khanh Thanh commune. Mr. Tuc and his wife are 77 years old this year, they live in a simple level 4 house that was built a long time ago. Mr. Tuc said, we were very happy to be visited, talked to by the commune leaders and benefactors and given two new fans. The gift shows the care, sharing and love of even people we have never met. The gift helps us get through the upcoming hot days more easily.

Ms. Cu Thi Tuyet, Head of the Light Up Faith Club, said: The electric fans are not of great value but are very meaningful in improving the living conditions of Mr. Tuc's family. As for special circumstances, where it is necessary to mobilize large resources from philanthropists, we will post and spread information, thereby connecting kind-hearted people to those in need of help. Over the past years, humanitarian and charitable activities in Yen Khanh district have spread widely, becoming a cultural beauty, receiving attention, response and regular and continuous implementation from Party committees at all levels, authorities, mass organizations and the whole society.

During the Humanitarian Month 2023, with the spirit of "Good people, good deeds - Joining hands to build a compassionate community", the Red Cross Association at all levels in the district has promoted propaganda work, spreading the values of compassion widely in the community. From there, joining hands to contribute to carrying out many meaningful tasks towards the community, especially for disadvantaged groups, people with difficulties, sudden risks...

Accordingly, 100% of the Red Cross Associations of communes/towns have propaganda articles about the Humanitarian Month and Red Cross activities broadcast at least twice a month on the district-level radio system, commune-level radio stations and other local media; mobilize each cadre, member and volunteer to reflect humanitarian activities on Zalo, personal Facebook; write news, articles, photos and videos reflecting the Humanitarian Month activities, introduce humanitarian addresses in need of assistance on the communication channels of the district Red Cross Association; introduce and honor businesses that accompany the Association in humanitarian activities on mass media...

After the end of Humanitarian Month, the District Association will focus on communicating the results and honoring and praising typical models and examples of implementing Humanitarian Month.

Mr. Do Quang An, Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Yen Khanh district, said: During this Humanitarian Month, all levels of the Society in the district strive to mobilize resources of over 400 million VND to assist from 500 to 800 people in difficult circumstances, with appropriate forms of assistance and levels of assistance. In which, communes and towns register 1 humanitarian project or humanitarian work, worth from 10 to 50 million VND (Building a Red Cross House, giving humanitarian addresses, giving gifts to disadvantaged people, giving rice and porridge at hospitals... ) ; each commune and town introduces at least 1 humanitarian address. Coordinate the implementation of the "Nutrition for poor and disabled children" program at 1 to 2 kindergartens in the district. All levels of the Society in the district connect to support the construction and repair of 1 Red Cross house worth 50 million VND or more. During the Humanitarian Month, the entire district strives to have at least 1 humanitarian project for individuals or communities, with a minimum value of 50 million VND/project... In addition, the District Association will also actively carry out other movements such as: Voluntary blood donation; organ donation campaign...
