Art inspiration from school

At the recent meeting of the Politburo and Secretariat, General Secretary To Lam made a strategic suggestion: inviting outstanding artists and athletes to directly teach gifted subjects such as music, fine arts and sports in schools.

This is not only a solution to the problem of the lack of specialized teachers - a long-standing problem, but also a long-term vision for comprehensiveeducation , aiming to awaken and nurture the cultural, emotional and physical depth of the young generation of Vietnam from their first steps in life.

In the picture of modern education development, art and sports are often classified as "minor subjects", undervalued in terms of scores and value. This leads to the fact that many students, upon graduating, still do not know how to play a musical instrument, cannot draw a picture, and have not yet formed healthy exercise habits. More dangerously, they gradually lose the ability to perceive beauty, lack the skills to express emotions, leading to mental rigidity and physical passivity. In a digital world, where people are increasingly faced with pressure and negative information, the quiet moments for children to live with art and release positive energy through sports become more valuable than ever.

Inviting famous artists or athletes - those who have gone through a rigorous training journey, experienced both glory and bitterness - to enter the classroom is a way to bring students practical and vivid life lessons. Of course, not all artists or athletes have formal pedagogical skills, but they possess something that no textbook can convey: creativity, inspiration, passion, the ability to awaken dreams... That is exactly what art and sports education in schools is lacking. Imagine the influence when a famous singer appears in the classroom, tells about his journey to overcome poverty to stand on the big stage; an athlete shares the feeling of holding the national flag on the podium of glory - those are moments that can touch the hearts of children, ignite in them the desire to live with ideals and make constant efforts. Surely those will be lessons that no textbook can replace!

Art is the language of emotions, a bridge between people, between individuals and communities. A child with musical ability will also know how to sympathize, be moved by beauty and live more deeply. A good piece of music, a beautiful painting, a moving play can change perceptions, making people become kind and humane. Sports not only train endurance but also teach team spirit, the will to overcome difficulties, and resilience. These are the qualities that make a person healthy in both body and mind - something that all education aims for. That is why in advanced education systems such as Finland, Japan, Korea, etc., art and sports always occupy an important position in the journey of children's maturity. What is needed is "real learning, real practice". Students must be able to hold brushes, play musical instruments, and act under the guidance of professional and dedicated artists.

In recent times, many organizations and individuals have made efforts to bring performing arts programs to schools, but they are still mainly small-scale. If we want to create a profound impact, we need a long-term strategy, accompanied by systematic investment in facilities, remuneration, and coordination mechanisms. General Secretary To Lam 's suggestion can completely become a policy if agencies, units, and schools know how to make good use of social resources. Signing contracts with professional artists and athletes to teach will help the classroom become lively, creative, and inspiring, not only for students but also for teachers and parents.

In the current context, when social networks are making young people easily become emotionally numb, when many life values are being turned upside down, art and sports - with their authenticity, emotion and humanity - need to be cherished and invested in properly. Learning music, drawing or sports is not for all students to become professional artists or athletes, but for them to mature into more complete people: knowing how to listen to themselves, knowing how to share with others, being physically healthy, spiritually profound, and emotionally rich. It is time for us to put art and sports in their rightful place in the journey of maturity of the young generation of Vietnam, as an indispensable part in the harmonious development of human intelligence, emotions and personality.
