Dong Thap: Support of more than 5 million VND/person/month for officials working at the new provincial administrative center

On the afternoon of May 28, at the press conference, Chief of Office of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Phi Da said that according to the proposal of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee agreed to support cadres, civil servants and public employees working at the administrative center of the provincial administrative unit after the merger with more than 5 million VND/person/month.

Specifically, the support costs include: transportation is 1.6 million VND/person/month; accommodation is 2 million VND/person/month; living expenses is 1.5 million VND/person/month.

Support period is 2 years from the date of decision on arrangement and merger by competent authority.

However, “this support level may change more or less after the Dong Thap Provincial People's Council approves it after the province's merger,” said Mr. Da.

Also informing at the conference, Mr. Da said that for the redundant agency headquarters after the merger, to avoid loss and waste of public assets, the locality is conducting a comprehensive review to have a detailed plan. Specifically, the headquarters between provincial departments and headquarters between 2-level administrative units (district and commune levels).

“Up to now, there are still many objective conditions and there is no detailed plan, but all the headquarters will be reclaimed after the merger. After that, a detailed plan will be made for the reasonable use of public assets,” said Mr. Da.
