Mobilize manpower from pumping stations and oil pumps to drain water.

With the focused leadership of authorities at all levels, cooperatives in the district have prepared the land for sowing and planting according to the crop schedule set by the province and district.

Accordingly, in the 2023-2024 Winter-Spring crop, the entire Phu Vang district will plant over 5,839 hectares. As of January 24, localities have planted 5,385 hectares, reaching 92.23%. Due to the impact of the rains in recent days, 1,730 hectares of rice have been flooded, concentrated in communes such as: Phu Luong 435 hectares; Phu Gia 800 hectares; Vinh Ha 200 hectares; Phu Ho 100 hectares....

The Secretary of Phu Vang District Party Committee encouraged farmers to try to overcome all difficulties to produce the winter-spring rice crop effectively; required localities to focus on overcoming the consequences caused by rain, mobilize all human resources to operate pumping stations at full capacity, mobilize more oil pumps to pump out water, not let deep flooding last long causing serious damage, strengthen dike construction, reinforce field banks, and increase guard duty to save rice.

Request the district and local agricultural sectors to have plans to reserve seed sources for farmers to replant rice areas damaged by rain and cold, in a timely manner, to stabilize production; propagate and train farmers to produce in a safe and sustainable organic direction; strive to sow the remaining areas before February 5.
