On November 23, 2023, President Vo Van Thuong, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Long An province. On June 13, 2023, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 686/QD-TTg approving the Long An Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. This Planning document inherits, updates, and supplements new orientations of the world and the region, demonstrating the aspiration for rapid and sustainable development of Long An province. The core idea of ​​the Planning is to build Long An province into a connecting center between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta, in which "three regions, one center, two corridors, and six dynamic axes" will be formed.

On July 25, 2023, Long An province held a conference to announce the provincial planning and promote investment, with the participation of the Prime Minister and more than 300 domestic and foreign enterprises and investors.
