Similarly, the price of 4-9 gold rings at SJC increased by 1 million VND in buying, to 113.5 million VND, but only increased by 500,000 VND in selling, to 116 million VND. The difference in the buying and selling price of SJC gold rings decreased to 2.5 million VND/tael instead of 3 million VND as yesterday.

The world gold price jumped to $3,357/ounce, up $55 compared to yesterday morning as investors worried about rising trade tensions when US President Donald Trump warned Apple and recommended imposing stricter tariffs on the European Union (EU). Speaking to CNBC, Tai Wong, an independent metals investor, said President Donald Trump has taken strong action in the past 24 hours. The threat of 50% tariffs on the EU from June 1 and Apple has left the stock market in a gloomy mood, which is good for gold.
In contrast, global stocks plunged after President Donald Trump's remarks. The US market ended the trading session on May 23 (early morning of May 24, Vietnam time) in the red. The Dow Jones index fell 256.02 points, equivalent to a decrease of 0.61% to 41,603.07 points; the S&P 500 index lost 0.67% to 5,802.82 points and the Nasdaq Composite fell 1% to 18,737.21 points.
