Musician Nguyen Van Chung: I really don't know what words to use to describe my feelings about the joy I've been receiving continuously over the past few days. It's the happiness, honor and pride that I've received for the first time in 23 years of working. The day the song was performed in the art program , I watched the performance at home, saw everyone's images, I was extremely moved.

- Reporter: It is known that "Writing the continuation of the story of peace" is a song in the album of the same name released in 2023 by you and Nguyen Duyen Quynh. But until now, the song has just become viral, with the total number of short video views on all platforms reaching nearly 5 billion. You must be very surprised with such a large number of followers?

Musician Nguyen Van Chung: Although this number is not the number of views on YouTube as we often see with other hits, it proves the song's strong influence on all audiences, regardless of age, profession or social position without limit. For a musician, that is something to be extremely proud of.

- Reporter: Besides the impressive number above, how many awards has this song brought you?

Musician Nguyen Van Chung: This song received the A prize of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association Award in 2023, the C prize of the 2023 Literature and Arts Award - Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations , the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Creativity Award in 2025, and a Certificate of Merit from the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for spreading patriotism.

- Reporter: Could you tell us how the idea for writing this song came about?

Musician Nguyen Van Chung: Chung and Quynh met at the same time, both wanting to make an album about their homeland and country. I also wanted to challenge myself with a new topic after the success of topics about love, family and children. Quynh wanted to make an album about their homeland and country to give to his father, a veteran, and his comrades. Quynh told me about the times he and his father went to meet veterans, saw their wounds, and heard about their sacrifices on the battlefield. From there, Quynh suggested that I choose songs as a tribute to the sacrifices of our ancestors in the past to have peace today. Those were the initial ideas for me to write this song.

- Reporter: In the very first sentence of the song, you use the two words "old days" and "later days". What special meaning does this have?

Musician Nguyen Van Chung: My thought at that time was that the word “day sau” refers to an uncertain future but is associated with an ideal that is burning in my heart, I am willing to sacrifice what I have in “today” so that future generations will have greater achievements and happiness. I used the words “day sau” and “day sau” to connect the past with the present, but if the present wants to connect with “day sau”, it must be the word “day sau” to express the noble ideal - the great ideal of those who have spent their youth, youth, and lives for peace, independence, and freedom for their descendants.

- Reporter: How do you feel when the song "Writing the next story of peace" is included in the literature exam for students?

Musician Nguyen Van Chung: I feel very honored that my song was included in the literature exam for high school grades, even grade 4. This shows that the song not only has the ability to spread but also has educational value. A song can be loved by many audiences, but to be included in the exam proves that it has a high propaganda and educational value, and my song is lucky to have that. I am happy that the emotions conveyed in the song are felt, recognized and appreciated by everyone.

In addition, when giving the song's music text to schools, I hope to spread the song to many places so that children who want to sing and play will have the text to practice. Through that, this song lives in the heart, becoming the pride of every citizen in the present and future.
