As of late afternoon on March 31, major network operators Viettel, VinaPhone, and MobiFone said that tonight (March 31) they will implement one-way communication blocking with more than 1.5 million subscribers who have not standardized information according to regulations.
Specifically, the latest information from VinaPhone, as of March 31, 2023, more than 500,000 customers have standardized their subscriber information. VinaPhone has also blocked outgoing calls with 320,000 subscribers who have not standardized their information according to regulations, the remaining number (about 200,000 subscribers) will be blocked tonight, March 31.
As for MobiFone, as of March 31, nearly 800,000 customers had standardized their subscriber information. Thus, according to a review of data on the system, there are still about 600,000 customers who have not standardized their information according to regulations.
Viettel representative said that as of 5:30 p.m. on March 31, one-way lock had been applied to over 400,000 subscribers whose subscriber information had not been standardized.
According to information from the Department of Telecommunications ( Ministry of Information and Communications ), as of March 30, more than 1.99 million subscribers had standardized information matching the National Population Database.
There are about 1.8 million subscribers whose information has not been standardized. The number of subscribers who have not updated their information for standardization will have their SIM cards locked one way from April 1, 2023.
According to statistics, Vietnam has about 126 million mobile subscribers. Subscribers who continue to not register for information standardization will be locked in both directions on April 15.
