At this Congress, the Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation aims to win 50-55 gold medals and be in the top 4 countries in the medal tally.
53 members of the Hanoi delegation set off to attend the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
On May 30, the Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation led by Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Nguyen Hong Minh and 53 members of the Hanoi Delegation (out of a total of 163 athletes nationwide) departed from Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) at 9:30 a.m. on flight VN 0921 to compete at the 12th Southeast Asian Para Games (ASEAN Para Games). The delegation transited in Vientiane (Laos) and arrived in Phnom Penh at 1 p.m. the same day.
At the same time, 34 members of the Da Nang Delegation departed from Da Nang International Airport to Tay Son Nhat International Airport, then joined 73 members of the Ho Chi Minh City Delegation to continue moving to Phnom Penh.
The 12th ASEAN Para Games will take place in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) from June 3 to June 9, 2023, at locations including Morodok Techo National Stadium, Olympic Stadium and several other competition venues in the capital Phnom Penh.
The Vietnamese Disabled Sports Delegation attending the 12th ASEAN Para Games will compete in 8/13 events of the Games including: Athletics, Swimming, Weightlifting, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Judo and Boccia.
The goal of the Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation in this congress is to strive to win 50-55 gold medals and be in the top 4 countries in the medal tally.

According to Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh, the 12th ASEAN Para Games is a very fierce competition, gathering many top athletes in the region. This will be a great opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to demonstrate their extraordinary will and determination to overcome their own obstacles, confidently rise up, and at the same time help them affirm their desire to win, integrate and contribute to the country's sports.
At this Games, about 2,600 members, including 1,400 athletes from 11 countries in the region, will compete in 14 sports. Following the 32nd SEA Games, the host country Cambodia continues to provide free entrance tickets to all spectators; free accommodation and food services for members of sports delegations; and free broadcasting rights for media partners./.
