On the morning of December 16th, the Hai Phong City Union of Literature and Arts held a ceremony to summarize and award prizes for the short story, essay, and new lyric writing competition for Ca Tru and Hat Van with the theme "Unified Nation".
This is a practical activity in response to the Hai Phong City Party Committee's plan to summarize 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

After nearly two months since its launch, the Organizing Committee has received 97 entries from 69 authors from Hai Phong and several other localities across the country.
The works focus on portraying the beauty of the country, its people, historical and cultural traditions, the spirit of national unity, and the changes in the homeland during the period of unification and development.
After rigorous and impartial preliminary and final rounds of judging, the organizing committee decided to award 17 prizes to the most outstanding works.
Specifically, in the short story category, there were 2 B prizes, 2 C prizes, and 2 consolation prizes. In the essay category, there was 1 B prize, 1 C prize, and 1 consolation prize.
For writing new lyrics for Hat Van (a type of Vietnamese folk singing), the Organizing Committee awarded 1 A prize, 1 B prize, 2 C prizes, and 2 consolation prizes; for writing new lyrics for Ca Tru (another type of Vietnamese folk singing), they awarded 1 B prize and 1 C prize.

The judging panel assessed that the winning works possessed high ideological and artistic quality, closely adhering to the theme of "National Unity," and expressing love for the homeland and country through various creative and emotionally rich perspectives.
The success of the competition further affirms the concern, responsibility, and dedication of Hai Phong's artists and writers towards major national issues, contributing to enriching the city's literary and artistic life in its new stage of development.
