Tuan Hung admitted that his peak period is long gone.

(NLĐO) - Often described as an "unruly horse" in the Vietnamese music scene, but after going through various ups and downs, Tuan Hung now only wants to dedicate his time to music and his family.

No longer boisterous or rebellious, Tuan Hung at the end of 2025 is an artist full of contemplation and philosophy. The male singer dedicates much of his time to songwriting and has released the album "Touch" with 5 of his own compositions.

Tuan Hung has been dedicating more time to his family and songwriting since the death of his mother.

Despite being highly praised for his surprising compositions, Tuan Hung says he doesn't dare call himself a songwriter because he hasn't received formal training in songwriting; he simply writes based on his own emotions, writing by hand.

The songs were written by him about four months ago, since his mother started getting sick and he had vocal cord surgery. "Those four months felt like four years; each day passed very slowly, very long, and the colors were more somber than bright. I struggled to get back on my feet, trying to move forward with music, " Tuan Hung shared about those past days.

Speaking further about the changes after losing his mother, Tuan Hung said he started to fear the feeling of being in crowded places.

"Sometimes, when I go out to a crowded place with friends for a meal or drinks, I just sneak back home, spend time with my children, make music, and record. That's my greatest joy right now; I feel happy, safe, and everything I need. I don't know if this is a positive or negative state of mind, but I feel like it's good for me. Honestly, I've put all my phone numbers on 'do not disturb' mode because I want to dedicate time to my family and music. I'm afraid that if you call and I don't answer, it'll be awkward. If I pick up the phone and you invite me out, I might have to nod or get carried away, and that really doesn't reflect my feelings right now," said the singer of "Hold My Hand."

Tuan Hung said that he feels his peak period passed a long time ago.

Sharing more about music, Tuan Hung said that he feels his peak period passed a long time ago and he never deludes himself or sets himself the dream of returning to the music scene.

"But perhaps the perseverance and effort in music is what people can see in Tuan Hung. When 'Hold My Hand' became my hit song, many people might have thought they could never have a song surpass it, but 10 years later, 'Double the Love' once again brought me closer to the audience. So I think, in music or anything else, persistence and sustained effort are extremely important and indispensable," Tuan Hung shared.

The male singer wants to write about positive things, looking towards the future.

Answering a question from the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper about his future writing career, Huan Hung said that he is currently writing continuously, recording his feelings every day.

"Now, I write down everything I see, writing continuously until there's nothing left in my head to write, then I rest, eat, play sports , and then write again. What I write in the future won't be about romantic love or agonizing pain, but about positive things, looking towards a bright future, about an artist wanting to share with the community and society. And especially, I'll write songs about my homeland, my country, and human relationships. Those are the themes I want to prioritize in the coming time, songs that have a wide reach," said Tuan Hung.

When asked about his position in the music market, Tuan Hung said that he still thinks he is an influential artist in karaoke rooms.

"On a music stage, my songs might be old, or many people might think that I've been singing the same songs for years, but in a karaoke room, I think if people choose 10 songs, there will probably be a few by Tuan Hung. Besides, every wedding has 'Hold My Hand' or 'Double the Love,' so Tuan Hung's position now is probably measured by his popularity in karaoke rooms or weddings. Whatever life turns out to be is entirely up to me to choose, and I'm happy with what I have," the singer shared.
