18 teams compete in the inter-family fire safety competition

Attending the contest were Major General Nguyen Duc Dung, Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police, along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches and police officers in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Nguyen Duc Dung said that according to statistics, there are currently over 13,800 establishments in the province under fire prevention and fighting management. Of these, about 75% are managed by the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns, and many of them have high fire and explosion risks.

The cause of fire and explosion is not only objective factors but also subjective factors originating from humans. A part of the people are still subjective and negligent, leading to violations of fire safety regulations, which can easily cause fire and explosion. Therefore, to minimize the number of fires and damage caused by fires, it requires the participation of the entire population and the entire political system, and it is necessary to promote the combined strength of the entire population in fire prevention and fighting.

The teams are participating in the fire prevention and rescue practice competition.

Major General Nguyen Duc Dung added that the construction and expansion of the model of inter-family fire safety teams and public fire fighting points has a very practical meaning and purpose, aiming to ensure fire safety in residential areas, putting the safety of people's lives and health first. Up to now, the whole province has 182 models of inter-family fire safety teams and 679 models of public fire fighting points. Thereby, many fires have occurred and the police force and inter-family fire safety teams have coordinated to put out the fires promptly.
