For around one million dong, tourists can fully experience the most interesting things and admire the pristine beauty of Pu Luong, Thanh Hoa .
Located approximately 130km from Thanh Hoa city center, Pu Luong, situated in the communes of Thanh Lam and Thanh Son (Ba Thuoc district), is a region that retains the pristine and majestic beauty of its mountains and forests, interspersed with villages and vast terraced rice paddies. The Pu Luong Nature Reserve is becoming a popular tourist destination among young people due to its fresh, peaceful atmosphere and stunning natural scenery. Pham Van Phong, a native of Thanh Hoa, had an impressive experience during his 2-day, 1-night trip to Pu Luong at a relatively low cost.

2-day, 1-night itinerary Day 1: Departing at 4 am, Mr. Phong set off from Thanh Hoa city center to Pu Luong by motorbike, a journey that took approximately 3 hours. The road was very open, beautiful, and not very busy. The first tourist attraction the group visited was the Cham Stream waterwheel, also known as a water wheel. Along both sides of the stream, the regularly turning waterwheels are a unique irrigation project of the local people. Besides admiring the waterwheel, visitors can paddle rafts or swim in Cham Stream, but be aware of high water levels on certain days.

After leaving Cham Stream, Phong continued his photography trip to the "S" shaped road and admire the terraced rice fields in Buon Don. This was also the most spectacular and impressive natural landscape for him. The rice fields in Buon Don were lush green, interspersed with the bright yellow of rice plants nearing harvest time.

After exploring the aforementioned locations, it was already noon, so the group rested at a roadside restaurant. Around 1 PM, he continued his exploration of the Kho Muong Bat Cave. The cave features rock formations creating many unusual shapes, resembling humans, animals, plants, and more. In the late afternoon, as the weather cooled, Phong and his friends enjoyed swimming at Hieu Waterfall. Approximately 800 meters long, Hieu Waterfall boasts clear, cool water hidden amidst the forest.

The price for his overnight stay at the homestay was 225,000 VND per person, including breakfast. Day 2: Pu Luong is a land of many beautiful waterfalls. On the last day of his Pu Luong exploration trip, Mr. Phong chose to visit Dan Waterfall – a pristine waterfall that very few tourists know about. After breakfast at the homestay, around 8 AM, Mr. Phong arrived at Dan Waterfall, located in Dan Long commune, Ba Thuoc district. This waterfall has water year-round, attracting tourists with its cascading white water, creating a poetic and majestic landscape. Surrounding the waterfall are dense forests and moss-covered rocks, the sound of the waterfall echoing throughout the year.

Around 1 PM, after enjoying a refreshing swim at Dan Waterfall, Mr. Phong concluded his trip and returned to Thanh Hoa city center. The total cost for Mr. Phong's 2-day, 1-night trip to Pu Luong was approximately 750,000 VND per person. This includes accommodation and one dinner at the homestay, meals outside, and parking fees at tourist attractions. There are also personal expenses such as fuel. Note: Pu Luong still experiences hot weather at certain times. When traveling between tourist spots, it's advisable to bring a jacket, sunscreen, and an umbrella. Tourists should eat at their homestay as there are relatively few restaurants along the way in Pu Luong. The homestay offers a variety of local specialties at affordable prices: roasted duck from Co Lung village, grilled stream fish, sticky rice cooked in bamboo tubes from Nua village, etc. If you visit on Thursday or Sunday mornings, you should go to Pho Doan market to shop and learn about the local culture.
