On the evening of October 28, at Nguyen Du Stadium (HCMC), many artists were present for the rehearsal of the program I! Vietnamese - a charity music night that will take place tonight (October 29) to raise funds to support people in flood-affected areas.

The rehearsal lasted until 1am. From the singers to the technical team, everyone meticulously edited each performance with the desire to bring the most perfect program.

"When the North was just struggling after the storm and flood, and the Central region was still submerged in days of flooding, there, music not only resounded like a performance but also the heartfelt voice of artists towards their compatriots, where pain and love harmonized into a word of sharing.

We hope that music and singing can somehow warm the hearts of those who have lost and grieved. Above all, this is a bridge for the audience to send their love to the people of the whole country," the program's producer, MC Anh Tuan, shared with Dan Tri reporter.

According to MC Anh Tuan, the entire crew only had a little over two weeks to come up with ideas, prepare and set up the stage. For him, this was a difficult problem, but everyone was in agreement, because everyone thought this was something that needed to be done right now.

"Hearing the news about the storm and flood damage in the North and then the Central region, no one in the "Gia To Anh Tai" can sit still. We want to contribute our little bit and for artists, the most meaningful way is to hold a music night," MC Anh Tuan shared.

According to the producer, he hastily called for sponsorship and raised funds. But what moved him was not the numbers, but the humanity in this journey.

"Many artists, technicians, suppliers, and sponsors have joined us without any profit. They have put in their time, effort, and effort just to do something practical for people in flood-affected areas. The artists in "Gia Toc Anh Tai" are busy with their personal schedules but still put aside their work to participate, some singing, some composing, some taking care of choreography.

Director Dinh Ha Uyen Thu was busy with her schedule, but when I called to invite her, she happily accepted and immediately got involved with the script, plot, and staging. Ho Hoai Anh was also very enthusiastic in rearranging the songs and making new music for some parts of the program," he said.

The name of the program was carefully chosen by the "talents". "I! Vietnamese" represents the spirit of solidarity, noble virtues and kindness of the Vietnamese people.

"We want the audience to feel proud of being Vietnamese when they read the name of the program, knowing how to love and care for each other," he said.

The production team worked almost non-stop for many days. MC Anh Tuan, along with designers and technical experts, continuously adjusted every detail, from stage angles to seating positions, so that audiences, no matter where they were, could fully enjoy the show within the limited space of Nguyen Du Stadium.

"Today, when the stage was completed, everyone was surprised because it was more beautiful than expected. It was the effort of many people who quietly contributed, even in just two weeks," he shared.

The concert featured nearly 40 performances, including many songs about homeland, faith and hope. Some artists in the "Gia Toc Anh Tai" even composed their own compositions for the show, as a thank you to the audience and people in the flood-affected areas.

"Even though we only have two weeks, we still want each performance to be full of emotion, so that the audience can feel the humanity through every note," the producer added.

In the last days before the show, MC Anh Tuan read news about the situation in Central Vietnam and could not hide his emotions: "I know what we are doing is right and meaningful."

Amidst the ongoing natural disasters, I! Vietnamese is not just a show, but a word of encouragement and belief sent to those who are suffering out there.

"We know that a concert cannot erase all loss, but it can rekindle faith. Because Vietnamese people, wherever they are, always look to each other," MC Anh Tuan said emotionally.
