3 CP Fresh Shop stores in Soc Trang temporarily closed

On the afternoon of June 3, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province inspected the pig slaughterhouse for CP Fresh Shop stores in the province.

Soc Trang province's interdisciplinary delegation inspected the slaughterhouses for 4 CP Fresh Shop stores in the area.

Accordingly, the delegation inspected the slaughterhouse at Cho Cu Hamlet, My Xuyen Town, My Xuyen District, Soc Trang Province (owned by Ms. Huynh Thi Ba). This is a slaughterhouse for processing 4 CP Fresh Shop stores (of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company) in Soc Trang Province.

At the time of inspection, the slaughterhouse was holding about 30 pigs, including 11 pigs (held separately) waiting to be slaughtered for CP Fresh Shop in Soc Trang province.

The inspection team worked with the owner of the slaughterhouse to check the compliance with relevant legal regulations of the above-mentioned slaughterhouse. At the same time, the authorities also took blood samples from pigs at the slaughterhouse to send to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Region VII to test for infectious diseases.

According to records, 3/4 of CP Fresh Shop stores in Soc Trang province have temporarily suspended operations. The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province said the reason for the temporary suspension is to complete the missing procedures according to regulations.

Previously, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province completed the inspection of 4/4 CP Fresh Shop stores in the area when people reported about dirty pork and chicken being smuggled into the market. The inspection results showed that the team "did not discover any establishments selling diseased pork and chicken products with foul odors or expired products".

However, "The food safety certificates of 3/4 establishments, including: business location No. 12, business location No. 21, business location No. 8 (of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company - Can Tho Branch) have expired.

At the same time, the establishments have not yet presented the original Certificate of Business Location Registration (3 establishments) and Certificate of Food Safety Training of the establishment owner and sales staff in accordance with legal regulations (4 establishments).
